Greetings!

I've been using the awesome guides here to build my K-1 visa submission, but I can't find any suggestions on how to bundle it all together and mail it. I've read about the ACCO fasteners but I'm really not familiar with those. Should I hole punch this whole thing? Suggestions on how to physically build the packet from those who have submitted before would be great!

I've searched the forum, but all relevant links would just lead back to the main forum.

Thanks for any help you all can provide! This is the last part I'm freaking out about! :)

Don't hole punch it. Use LARGE paperclips that go around the whole package, or butterfly clips, like so:

That's probably good enough. They'll take it apart when they get it anyway. We didn't use ACCO Fasteners (I wasn't familiar with them either until I Googled it) and ours was fine. :)

If you label each section as well, that is usually helpful, along with the cover letter to let them know what's included.

I paperclipped the individual sections together then clipped the whole thing with a big binder clip (like the ones shown above.)

Its perfectly acceptable to two hole punch the I129F package. We punched ours at the top and used a two pronged fastener to secure everything together (about 60 pages).

The cover letter had an index that showed all the information included and the order thay appeared in the package.

I actually saw our original I129F packet months and months and months later when my fiancee and I entered the US. The whole package we sent was still intact as I had originally sent it

I do recommend fastening this package together - remember - this package will go to USCIS then NVC then US Consulate and all the way back to the POE. A few things will be added at the consulate but for the most part this will be what comes all the way back.

If it is not fastened - it only takes a slip or bump and papers are everywhere.

Obviously this is just one persons personal opinion and everyone here has there own!

Now for the interview stage - I would definately not recommend this but that is down the road.

Paper clips or binder clips will be fine. Then put it in the right sized Priority Mail envelope to mail. I assure you the pages won't get shuffled during mailing. Anything else you do will just be undone when USCIS builds their file.

Facts are cheap...knowing how to use them is precious...

I did the two-hole punch thing because there was mention of them "appreciating" that in their filing instructions. I didn't put anything through the holes; just had the impression this was something that made their own filing and organizing easier. Clipped things together that were of a piece--all the copies of my passport pages, for instance. Had order of documents match order on cover letter. Used post-it notes to label each grouping and every document that didn't immediately announce its nature. Presto!
