Well, arguing from the Christian perspective (which I know many don't care about anyway. The Old Testament was ALL about universal health care. When one had any sickness or disease they were to see the priests and the priests were paid by the tithe. So everyone paid into the health care. HOW EVIL.

The Old Testament also says we should stone gays. If Obama and his communist agents of evil pass Obamacare, they should also make it legal for us to lynch homos. All or nothing. Fuсk being moderate, the only thing in the middle of the road is roadkill.

At my husband's last job we had to pay about $600/mo for me and my son to be on his plan. His was paid for by his job. Now at his new job, with more options, it's I think $230(around that?) a month which to us seems so nice.

As for shopping around for insurance on your own, we had looked and found decent rates BUT they usually did not include maternity coverage which is very expensive to pay on your own. So what is the point unless you are a man, through menopause, or for some reason 100% definitely can't have a child? It's much more expensive to add maternity coverage on your own. Not saying I fully support "universal health care coverage", though.

I'm for universal health care. But I am more for affordable insurance that is not based on employment. Like car insurance. And thanks for actually answering my question.

I have a #######. God gave it to me. When he gave it to me, it was understood I would not have to get pregnant or pay for pregnancy or any of that #######. That's for women. The idea that those of us fortunate enough to be #######-endowed must fund those of you who are not this fortunate, turns my stomach. Have you people no shame? If you are this willing to rob me of my liberty, I shudder to think how easily you will give up your own.

Your posts turn my stomach, wingnut slayer.

Yeah why don't you pay for all my medical costs, please? I will be sure to bill you, since you will enjoy helping me, less fortunate, pay for my bills. I am not paying one cent. If you can't afford that, find someone who can, and take their money.

I would pay just about whatever at this point... I wish I could get insurance... I have rheumatoid arthritis and am self-smployed... There is no insurance company which will cover me with my condition in my area (I tried insurance brokers, self plans, all the major carriers and they all said NO)... I have a doctor that has a self-pay program but if I have to be hospitalized I pray that it is from a car accident or something else so that I will have some coverage... Otherwise I am screwed at this point...

I would be paying $500 - $800 a month for my medications, however, I go to Italy with my husband 2 times a year and get all my prescriptions there and bring them home and pay $3 a month (socalized medicine) as well as see my Rheumatiod specialist over in Italy ($10 ticket per visit). It is cheaper for me to take 2 trips a year than pay for the medicine and doctors over here.

I am hopeful however that after the 1 year waiting period, I can get added to my husbands policy, I realize that they will probably exclude the RA, but that is better than nothing...

So needless to say am I FOR Single payer system... I use is regularly in Italy and although not as "posh" as the health care system over here, they are very professional and I have no major complaints. The devil can have my soul if I can get my medications and not worry about losing everything I own in case of serious illness!!!

In America, insurance companies have the right to deny coverage to people with pre-existing conditions. This is for a very good reason, to protect the company's interests. Were you under the impression that health care exists to treat people? Ha, how quaintly communist of you. Health care exists to make insurance companies rich. If you want to share in the spoils, go buy some AET. Maybe the dividends will pay for your treatment.

i'm happy steven will be paying for my wife and boys for healthcare while he lives in a 2 bedroom apartment and has zero chance to better himself. I'll take his money everyday ... cause he is one income (jinky) with steven providing unreported income by drawing cartoons and has only one child .... the other child he accidentally fathered with his ex is older and is is claimed with his ex ....

A single-payer/universal care system in the United States is not a feasible option and would be a MASSIVE tax increase on the populous as a whole.

Why? Because it's not the fault of insurance, it's the fault of an already overbearing Government on the health care system that is heavily over regulated.

It's not the insurance, the patients, the doctors, etc.... it's the COST!
