Is it ok for me to complete the g-325a form for my fiancee, email it to her to print and sign. Then she scans it and sends it back to me via email and I print it out?

Since it says on the cover letter and form fc-029 that photo copies are acceptable.

Best to have her sign it and MAIL it back. Some people even sign in blue ink showing it's the original.

It needs to be original. Best to have her mail it back to you with the original signature to prevent any delays in your case

Good luck.

Should be the original. Do you really want to be sitting here 3 months from now (pacing and waiting) and then receiving an RFE for the original signed version? Best to get er done right the first time. :D

Are you sure it is not acceptable? Why have the statement on the cover letter stating copies are ok?

Copies are fine for some documents and not for others. The official petition and G325a are to be originals and so are the letters of intent. Usually the foreign fiancee will simply sign both the G325a and letter of intent then mail them together with the passport photo.

Ok, now I have seen this question posted before but different answers have been posted.

1 page or 4 pages of the G-325a?

This is a little gem on VJ. So far, the best answer is 2 copies of each (2 for the petitioner and 2 for the beneficiary). The 4 page requirement was for an older dated form. I think the 2 page answer is in the post from Gary's chat with the VSC director here:

Actually the G-325a does not need a signature at all. (See below) But the fiancee letter of intent needs an original signature. If she is sending you by Fedex the letter of intent, then also send the original signed G-325a. Otherwise it is best for YOu to do the G-325a and send it unsigned, write in (in the signature area) "to be signed at interview"

Interoffice Memorandum

To: SERVICE CENTER DIRECTORS

From: Michael Aytes /S/

Acting Associate Director for Operations

United States Citizenship and Immigration Services

Department of Homeland Security

Date: November 1, 2005

Re: Guidance for Processing Pending Form I-129F Petition for Alien Fiancé(e) when

G-325A for Petitioner and/or Beneficiary is not Signed and/or Photos not Submitted.

Purpose

To provide field offices with guidance on processing Form I-129F petitions when the accompanying G-325A is missing signatures and/or photographs.

A properly executed Form G-325A is required for all I-129F petitions. Previously it was standard practice to issue an RFE when the beneficiary failed to sign the G-325A and/or failed to submit photographs. From the date of this memorandum, an RFE should not be issued in instances where the beneficiary failed to sign the G-325A and/or failed to include photographs provided that the beneficiary is residing abroad. The beneficiary will be required to sign the Form G-325A and/or submit photographs at the time of visa issuance abroad. It is also not necessary to RFE for the petitioner’s signature on the G-325A, if the petitioner failed to sign it. The signature of the petitioner on the Form I-129F should be deemed sufficient for purposes of adjudicating the petition. Finally, it is important to note that the petitioner’s photograph is still required for the adjudication of the I-129F, so if it is missing, it must be requested prior to adjudication.

Questions regarding this memorandum may be directed through appropriate channels to Mica Pilz of Service Center Operations.

Just to let people know. I just had my girl in Kharkov Fed-Ex me two weeks ago. Letter envelope was $60. Left Kharkov on Monday, delivered in Raleigh on Friday. One point of note. All Fed-Ex shipments originating from a foreign country have to be signed for. They will not leave at door. Fed-Ex policy. I had to track down my driver to get mine.

My Fiancee helped me write our "how we met letter" and we both signed it before I left the ukraine. She also signed her letter of intent to marry me. However we found a mistake on her G-325a we completed together.

Now what do you suggest we do? I just fill out a new one for her and print it without a signature. Maybe put a sticky note at the signature location and state that she will sign it at the consulate? Or pay $60 to have a shipped copy sent to me and wait another week?

I did what Gary said when I found a few small typos on my wife's G325. I printed out new ones with the mistakes corrected and left them unsigned. I included a small explanation and included a signed copy with the mistakes on it. We got our NOA2 on feb 10 with no RFE.

The correction can be made with white out or correction tape. It is important the information be correct, not who fills it out. Alla never touched a form, from Petition to AOS, except to sign where needed. I completed all forms. Yes, I made corrections. We even made corrections at the consulate. They prefer accurate information. Another method is to draw a line through the incorrect information and write the correct information above or below IF there is enough space to do so legibly. If not, use a correction tape.

FYI there is no need for a "how we met letter" but no penalty for doing so. " 1 or 2 sentences written into the provided box will do.

"While returning from a trip to Ukraine on Sept. 19th, 2007 I had a layover in Prague, CZ. I met Alla while waiting in line at the airport to buy bus tickets to the city" That is what I wrote for my answer to question 18.

You are describing how you MET IN PERSON, not what you did for the weekend, they do not care about that. Beyond the actual face to face meeting, anything else is fluff. But it makes for interesting conversation in the lunch room and it is why they call these petitions the "Hunny Bunny's"

I never used the original for my wife. In fact, I completed as much of the form as I could here in the US then emailed it to her for her siginature and she emailed it back to me and nothing was ever said about it. So, in my opinion it does not have to be an original.
