This really should go in a "POE" section. I didn't see one and I didn't look too hard either.

My fiancé, Bijad, arrived on Saturday. I am not sure if he received the temporary work stamp or not. What does it look like?

Thanks.

I believe it would indicate EAD on it - been a while since I looked at Karin's. It is of very little use though - not really for work any more if that is what you were thinking.

If you like, I could move your thread to "Working/Traveling Prior to Getting a Green Card"..

What do you mean it's not really for work anymore? Isn't that the point of it?

The point is to let your fiance apply for a social security number. Last year they cleared up the confusion about it being good for work. If is not one of the items recognized by the new e verify system. Sorry he will have to wait for an traditional EAD

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

The requirements to satisfy the I-9 is what changed. The wording says (by memory - so you will want to check this out for yourself) "to work for THE employer". Surmising that change to using the word THE means entering the US was for work and to work for a specific employer.

Much of this is discussed often in the EAD forum.

Irrelevant anyway. They don't issue them anymore.
