Hi,

I called the USCIS so I can talk to infopass before we go in as that is what the website recommends. Here is my question, how do I get a live person that it says you can get? It says a live person is available 8 am to 8 pm but there is no prompt on how to get that person, everything is automated, any tricks?

Not sure this will still work, but used to be you could just push #1 (that's the pound sign and the number 1) and you would be connected to a live person.

02/20/10: Married and SOOOO happy!

04/20/10: Sent off AOS (finally!)

Thanks, unfortunately I don't have a receipt number yet, I just wanted to be able to ask someone a question. It's really about how important the I551 stamp is for traveling with an expired greencard abroad.

I like how they tell you how you can get a live person. lol

What I did was just use the "changing address" option and that connected me to someone. Just told them I wasn't moving.

I HATE miles, gallons, pints, words spelled without u's, and all that other jazz...

I did that too. Chose the option that I have changed my address and then they connected me to a live person. I then just told them I was not changing my address but had some other questions and that was fine. It's really weird that it has to be so difficult to speak to a live person!!! I was surprised there wasn't an option to do so in the main menu.

Hehe, it wouldn't be good old USCIS if something was easy and made sense...LOL
