We're taking over Facebook too!

Pay attention, non-EP NVC noobs. Here's Christeen's time tested formula to get you through NVC in one piece alive:

Petitioner: Get NVC # + give operator your email IDs + receive AOS fee bill + pay 70$ online + wait to show paid + print cover sheet + send I-864 AOS with all documents and case # written on each page.

Beneficiary: Get NVC# + receive DS3032 + send DS3032+ DS3032 accepted + IV fee bill available to be paid + pay & wait to show paid + print IV cover sheet + mail DS230 package with all original/certified documents

= wait for case complete + wait for interview to be scheduled.

Suggestions:

1) Have the beneficiary mail SIGNED extra DS230s to you so that you have them handy in case something goes wrong. Or you get hit by a dreaded RFE.

2) If you just received your NOA2, THIS is the time to get your tax stuff and police certificates sorted out. Don't waste time on this.

3) Double check the PCC requirements in the regional forums as they are country specific.

4) Check the pinned STUPID RFEs thread in IR-1/CR-1 forum before you send out your respective packages.

Currently the # of business days NVC is taking:

3-4 days for NVC to receive your case and assign a case #.

3-4 days to receive emailed links after case # has been assigned and email addresses been given to NVC operator.

1-2 days for the AOS bill to show as PAID.

1-3 days for DS3032 to be accepted.

1-2 days for IV bill to be PAID.

8-11 days for case complete after all your documents have been sent in.

Folks--please make sure your official VJ timelines are up to date. Remember this is our only source of predictions. Thankyou!

Here's the part we've all been waiting for. Your sign in fails! What happens AFTER you get a SIGN IN FAILED?

Check the AVR/confirm with an operator that your case has indeed completed processing at NVC.

CR-1 interviews are scheduled by NVC. The interview letter will be e-mailed to both the beneficiary and the petitioner.

You can track the DHL packages sent out from Portsmouth, NH to your consulate.

Keep bugging NVC till they assign your date. Not too much, though.

You can check the US Consulate's website for updates on interviews. Most consulate's have an interview schedule updated bi-weekly.

You can also call your consulate for regular updates on how busy the consulate is that month.

Get your medical out of the way. The medical is country specific, so check out your regional forums.

Usually, you need 2-3 photographs, passport, interview letter, and your medical records but I'm sure requirements differ.

Just an update on my situation: I called the consulate and spoke to someone in the IV unit. They said they will not accept mail sent directly to the Consulate. Or by email or fax.

They also said there is a good possibility that 2009 taxes WILL be asked for and that I can wait till the interview day and if it is asked for, they will issue me a slip and I can THEN mail it in. Which will obviously delay everything and it is not something I want.

So I'm going to get my Dad to talk to my cousin. I'm done dealing with him and him treating me like I'm six years old.

He is ready to send it ONLY if he receives some official notice or link. Otherwise, he is hesistating due to privacy concerns. He thinks since we went through NVC successfully, the Consulate won't be asking for anything else and I'm just asking for unnecessary stuff.

Yeah, maybe I'm being paranoid but I'd rather be over-prepared than under. Why is this so difficult to understand? For someone who went from a F1 to naturalization as a USC, I thought he'd be more understanding and aware about this entire process. I could tear out my hair now.

Sorry you're going through all that right here at the end :( You have time to get it taken care of before your interview though sachi. Just one more small hurdle in a long line of them and you've already cleared 95% of them!!

UGH! Ok, so can your cosponsor call? Can you call the IV unit and have him on the line so he can hear for himself? Oh Sach.. poo this. Good thing is you have a good month or so before the interview and time to work on him a bit. I have faith this will be ok and he will come through. Strive babygirl...

Yes, maybe I should take a break for a day and actually spend some time WORKING. I talked to husband this am and he sounds so down and frusterated too. Not a good thing when were both down in the dumps.

Ahh well. Lets see how the week pans out for everyone. People keep posting your updates, your concerns, your issues, food porn, frusterations, vents and vexations.
