How old are you again shooter? 12?

I figured you liked men at least that were 13 or older but 12? Sheesh.

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

I don't see the problem with this holiday - I agree its being used symbolically and in this context that MLK is being used as a figurehead for the Civil Rights movement. Nothing wrong with that. He was an iconic figure after all.

So was Rosa Parks.

I wonder where the poll would go if you ask the question, who is more deserving of a national holiday, Martin Luther King or Ronald Reagan?

Why would either one get a holiday in their name if the very Founders of the country don't have one?

MLK would have had no leg to stand on without the pen of Thomas Jefferson, where is his national holiday?

Presidents day?.... give me a break.

Jefferson HAD A DREAM TOO.

Don't know about your city, the only thing closed in my city is city hall and the post office, everything else is open, schools, banks, factories, stores, everything.

The public schools normally have this day off, but had one snow day so called school today so the teachers can take off early for their three month vacation.

The concept of "Black Pride" arises from the fact that the black identity in the US is relatively new and doesn't have the hundreds of years of established cultural identity that whites take for granted.

The idea of "White Pride" is and has always been meaningless for anyone except white supremacists and neo-nazis who ignore the fact that white people are indeed proud of their cultural backgrounds, and that being descended from Irish, Italian, German or British heritage is more meaningful than some arbitrary concept of "whiteness".
