Sure, why not?

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

I wonder where the poll would go if you ask the question, who is more deserving of a national holiday, Martin Luther King or Ronald Reagan?

This is an OT general discussion, sparked by a simple question that relates directly to today's National Holiday. Keep your trigger finger off the button, please. Thank you.

MLK day used to coincide with Robert E Lee day (last Friday) here in the South. People evidently complained, so they changed it.

MLK would be rolling in his grave considering how things have ended up. How the many people (communities) he worked so hard to acquire equal rights and opportunities for, now choose to shoot-em-up and destroy entire neighborhoods, rather than build a normal life. Furthermore, actually integrate into the communities he worked so hard for them to have access to.

Absolutely we should have a national holiday to honor this man. And it's a shame more young people today don't understand the significance of his life, his non-violence, and his death.
