I-94 not taken at departure???

John and I came back to England on Christmas and it wasn't until we were on our final flight OUT of the U.S. that he realized that nobody had taken his I94 card out of his passport. What do we need to do? It says on the back it must be surrendered when he leaves but he can't recall who normally takes it out and I have NO idea at this point what to do? Advice would be appreciated as at this point I'm not sure.

Thats the green thingy right? Well i know the first time i went to the states in may i got back to germany and still had it and havent handed it back in and since traveld in and out again so im not sure if it really matters. Can you not call the airport?

This just happened to us. We went to England in the beginning of December and no one took or even asked for his I-94 (the white one which he got when he came over on his K-1) but on returning to the states 2 days ago, it didn't cause any problems. The lady at immigration looked at his passport and said "hmm I wonder why they didn't take this" and then just took it out and nothing else was said. So it wasn't a big deal at all.

You can if you want post it back, if you turn it over and read the back it should have the address to post it to or an email address, I don't think it's a big problem. I've done it and handed back the next time I was in the country and the lady pulled it out torn it up and put it in the bin.

It has happened to by husband twice.. Both times he just left it attached and notified the officer when he entered the next time and they took it... It did not raise any issues

My Husband had one left in his passport and it was a big deal - definately send it back.

The next time we went to cross the border we had to go in to secondary and they were none-too-nice about it.

I had an I-94 for a good 6 months, they forgot to take it when I was leaving. When I got a different visa, I made sure to point it out to the CO and he said to just give it to POE people when I get the new I-94. No issues at all. Logan Boston. This was back in 2005.
