I was recently told by a family friend that now if you have submitted I130 for your brother/sister, there is no longer an age limit for unmarried children that comes with them. I believe the limit was 21 for unmarried children. is it true?

Also he said that they have increased the visa number from 60,000 to 90,000. is it true?

Please help. we have submitted the papers in November, 01 and are just waiting. I also don't understand why the processing time says 2007 yet we have not gotten any response recently from embassy.

First of all, where did you get 2007 from? You can expect to wait at least 10 years for a visa number to be made available for a brother/sister, possibly much longer than that depending on where your brother or sister is from. Second, where did you hear about this "no age limit" & visa number increase claims? Please ask your family friend to cite a specific source.

No. Unmarried children of beneficiaries in the F4 category age out when they turn 21 - meaning they do not get visas when the beneficiary parent gets one. CSPA may offer those children relief - meaning in some cases depending on how long it took to approve the I-130 before it is sent to the NVC to wait for available visas - and they are eligible for visas. This is the same law that has been in place for the last 10 or so years. Nothing new. Your family friend may have heard about unmarried children over age 21 getting visas and not understand why. It is because of CSPA.

Also he said that they have increased the visa number from 60,000 to 90,000. is it true?

No. Look at the Visa Bulletin. Google it if you don't know what it is.

Your family friend can be a fountain of misinformation.

yeah but he had applied for 35 of his family members and half of them are already here. it seems like he knows about the happenings of immigration process but i guess i would have to verify myself.

Wow, 35?

How much does he make? Don't you have to be financially qualified to sponsor?

35 applications, I would guess, he makes millions!

LOL!

My take on this is that petitioning for a relative is a pretty easy do-it-yourself process. Your friend got the applications through. It doesn't make him knowledgeable about immigration laws. Ask him about CSPA and see if he knows how to apply it. Ask him for proof that unmarried children over age 21 no longer age out in F4 cases. Doubt he can give you anything except his mouth moving.

If you can only apply for spouses , parents , siblings and children I think the man knows more about visa applications than birth control

How much do you really need to know about immigration laws to file an I-130? Following up with an I-864 and a DS-230? It seems to me not much if you can supply basic documents to back up the case.

it's called chain migration, and unfortunately, USCIS apparently does not keep tabs of all the seperate support applications this clown is filing.

that, or he is bull shooting you and all of them are illegal with fake papers that look right but don't check out. there are so many sets of fake papers out there you wouldn't believe it.

So when my husband gets to be a USC he can apply for his mother and that would automatically include his siblings no matter how old they are and their marital status. And their children also

Lets see he has one mother

There are 20 siblings ( or do only the ones from his mother count and the other wives children come later ) and they are mostly married so about 15 spouses. And then there are 48 nieces and nephews... hmmm I am gonna need a huge raise to file an affidavit of support for that crowd.

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.
