My wife applied I-130 in October,

Notice of Action

Received Date: October, 08 2009

Notice Date: October, 14 2009

But, no further information/notification until now...any idea how much time they take to notify the final or 2nd Notice of Acceptance.

Is it at CSC or VSC?

CSC is currently snoozing bit time. Their official processing time-frame is 5 months. You'll have to wait for after the holidays for some action, is my best guess. It sucks. Please fill in your timeline. And check out Igor's List and the Stats Page for some idea regarding the approvals.

Waiting is the hardest part and I'm sorry but look at about 5 months before your 2nd notice of action so that would be March. I hope it is much before then

Yep waiting is the hardest part. I kinda figured it would go a little slower through the holidays. I did try to get mine expedited, but it hasnt been touched since 24th of Nov. that is when my expedite request was approved, but the case file wasnt at the CSC yet. I will give it another week and then call the military helpline to see what is going on. Of course I know it could still take quite some time.

I've seen people here who got acceptance of I-130 petition in 55-70 days........then why 5 months!!!!!!!

every case is different. My I130 took 5 and a half months to get approved, while other where a lot faster.

178 days from NOA-1 to NOA-2 while others were less than 60. It's the way these things go!

Sadly there is nothing we can do about it but wait and prepare for NVC

exactly I have seen people get approved at the CSC in 21 days!!, but it may have been just a beefed up time of the year there because they were backlogged. It also seems they process a certain type of petition too at a time.

i applied for my husband on sept 22nd 2009 got noa1 on sept 28th 2009 havent gotten anything after that my case is at california SC it going to be 3 months since i filed and still waiting for my file to be approved

There's lots of variables here - but -

To get some other sense of 'timing' - I suggest you study the timelines for your visa type, here on VJ.

I learned a lot when I did that, so I think anyone else can benefit from that study.
