You too, Chris!

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

Ok commies, I have to go.

I had my first client yesterday at the gym. And also my sister who also is an (LMT) will be my business partner in this new venture. We are going to decorate our room in the gym and hippie it out because right now it's just a plain room and is kinda sterile feeling.

Today I will quit Hades. I had a meeting w/ my sis and the management of the gym, I was gonna try to hold on to the server job and try to transition into the gym but it looks as if the gym is going to need my/our full attn to succeed. I'm a little scared because this is a uncomfortable jump but I think we will do ok.

Hey Brother Chris,

That is great news about quitting Hades and I give you my blessings :innocent: for a wonderful start-up at your new job!!! I pray that goes well for you and your sister! It does sound very exciting!!!

However, one word of caution that you might want to consider...when you fill out your AOS papers for Zhanna's 2 year greencard, you will again have to provide supporting evidence of financial stability and will need to meet/exceed the poverty guidelines...again...just like you did for the K1. If you can't meet those limits then it could cause problems for her Adjustment of Status. And, considering how difficult it is to start a business (which is usually a money 'drain' not 'gain' in the initial few months)...you may/may not be making enough money within the first 90 days of her arrival in the USA to sufficiently prove to the CO that you can meet these quidelines...

Its just a thought brother for your consideration, because we sincerely pray for your success!

Chris ~ :star: Sounds awesome! If I was in Charleston I would surely go see you for massages, I could seriously use some right now. The whole preggo lower back thing sucks!

As far as health insurance, from what I understand both you and Zhanna seem very educated. You never know, after Zhanna's AOS she may get a job that has health benefits so you won't have to pay out of pocket. Luis' job offers health insurance, however since I work for the Feds (lol that's what my mom calls it. I think it sounds like the FBI or Secret Service or something, but we really work for the IRS) my insurance is A LOT better so we didn't take his. Just a thought!

And you're right... I don't like the dirty snow in Queens either. HOWEVER, Queens is the only place I know where you can buy pierogies, polish sausage and knishes on the street and just about everywhere you go. I would deal with dirty snow for that alone!! mmmmm

Bishop ~ I want to know how the wine tasting extravaganza goes. Hopefully you will come online afterwards and tell us.

Hey Susita...that is very interesting. I thought it was 'law' that if insurance is provided by both employers...then it it must be taken by both employees. I think that the 'Fed' might be upset if they find out that they are paying insurance bills for Luis, when Luis had turned down his coverage. I know it is that way in my current company and also in my past company....

Chris...also regarding insurance. Its good that Zhanna has insurance currently. You'll want to make sure then that she gets all her 'K1 required vaccinations' while she's still covered. And, you'll want to make sure that her doctor provides a shot record for this...because at your AOS you'll have forms to fill out that must prove she's completed all her required vacinations. If you have to pay for the vaccinations once she arrives in the USA, it will be quite expensive...

Also, still regarding insurance, you might want to buy a very simple/cheap policy for Zhanna. At the AOS interview they'll want 'supporting evidence' that the two of you are 'mingling financially etc'...and your provision of insurance for her takes a very good step in the direction of good proof. Plus, it will also help to prove that she's less likely to become a public charge.

Just a couple things for you to consider...but I'm sure you've already thought of all that

Oh ya...one more thing...it might be a good idea for Zhanna to bring any/all college transcripts to the USA when she comes, and have those evaluated/translated into English. That will help with her job search. I'm sure you could request them once she is in the USA...but if she's able to get them prior to leaving her country, that would be easiest...

Peace, Mark

I think I will have to side with Susita on this one.. My husband had to pay a small percentage of his premium and the rest was covered by his employer. When I got my current job, where my current employer pays 100% of the premium for both my husband & me, he cancelled his coverage through work. I dont think it was against the law.

I am unsure about the law part. I do know that when 'open enrollment' rolls around, both my current employer and my last employer send me mails requesting the information for my wife's coverage. It might be that IF both are covered, but the husband presents an insurance claim for his wife under his policy, but she has her own policy, then they can reject it...

Beats me...I just want to live free...the Bishop has a touch of hippy in him...its that whole 'Jesus' thangy
