To end this on a funny note, I'm 95% convinced I could take you to school :P

School of hard knocks? Lisa, I'm not in a competition here with you as to who is 'right' and who is 'wrong'. I'm just stating my opinions - sometimes I might be off the mark - oh well. My suggestion to the OP was for her and her situation. In my opinion she sounded like the nurterer, the consoler, and he, the one who hangs tough. Giving the fact that they are apart, I don't think it would be beneficial to their marriage to start breaking through barriers with regard to roles. But keep taking me to school - I would like to learn your relationship wisdom. ;)

Bethanie, that's kinda what I see as the problem. 'Society' thinks women should be fluffy and soft, yet you're enforcing that stereotype by saying being strong is 'thinking like a man'. It's not. That's my only point here
Certainly see plenty of women and men fitting the old classic stereotypes. IMO both sexes should carry an equal amount of these characteristics, SOME men should use their hearts more, and SOME women their inner strength more to find a nice balanced form. On the flipside, SOME women have well balanced personalities, as do SOME men. If seeing a broader spectrum, makes me sexist, I accept the title. Been called worse I think, but this is a new one for me.

Off to get all girlied up so I can go rev up the engine of the lawn mower and weed eater, since poor lil me doesn't have a man around to do it! :hehe: (sarcasm by the way)

Don't think my point is going to get across, in a flat thread, that anyone can read the way the want. Tanning while mowing the lawn sounds more interesting.

psst...I know. Speaking of jokes...

A husband and wife were at a party chatting with some friends when the subject of marriage counseling came up. "Oh, we'll never need that. My husband and I have a great relationship," the wife explained. "He was a communications major in college and I majored in theater arts. He communicates real well and I just act like I'm listening."

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).
