Sure, there's a very active Canada Regional Forum on VJ.

But this thread is different. It's for the OT crowd (Canadians and otherwise) to express their warm feelings about our neighboUr (yes! a U!) to the north.

Please - tell us what you like. Leave the parts you don't like for a different thread.

I know. I mean, I just know - that there will be calls for Tim Hortons. So let's get that one right out of the way. I like Timmies. But it's hardly the first and best thing I love about Canada.

I love Banff and Lake Louise.

I love , just LOVE Hogtown. From Scarborough to Etobicoke, from Spadina/Dundas to Steeles/Keele to the 401/DVP interchange. I love Toronto! :luv:

I love the Thousand Islands and Gananoque, the Gatineaus, the Laurentians. Tremblant and Gray Rocks. Blackcombe/Whistler - I'd love to ski there one day!

Rush, The Guess Who, BTO.

Bruno Gerussi and The Beachcombers.

Wayne and Shuster.

Hockey Night in Canada.

Smoked meat sandwiches at Dunns and Schwartz.

Loonies and Twoonies.

I lived in Seattle for 5 years prior to moving to Vancouver, so it wasn't much of a change for me at all in regards to weather and things like that. The people are another story.

Anyway, the one thing that I love about here is Timmy's hot chocolate. YUM!

btw - toonies. :P

Montreal's bagels... some people think they are better than those in NYC. I loved them.

The Old world charm of Quebec City ain't that bad either.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

According to Wikipedia, either spelling is correct:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canadian_2_dollar_coin

The Canadian 2 dollar coin, commonly called Toonie (also spelled Tooney[1] or Twoney [2]),

Twoney (pluralized Twonies/Twoonies) makes more sense to me, given the base word of "two". Since it's a made-up nickname there is no "right" spelling.

Oh, and Montreal bagels ARE better than NY bagels. That's not an opinion. That's just a fact. :P

I'm a big fan of Niagara Falls :)

I haven't had the luck to travel to Quebec but that's next on my list for CA!

I'd have to agree here. Niagara Falls was amazing and I loved the vineyards nearby. I sometimes wish we were getting married at Niagara Falls instead of at the beach.

I think bagged milk is cool.

I like drinking hot tea with milk (picked that up in Canada).

Canadians recycle a lot more then we do- so kudos to them for that.

I also love the "oot" "aboot" and "ehs" you here up there. Such an adorable accent.

I guess Timmies is awesome, but the one time I went there it was so crowded we had to eat near a trash can standing up because there was no where to sit- not such a good first impression.

My all time favorite thing about Canada: Sean!

Edit:

Oh yes, I love the Loonies and Toonies! Even named my kitty Toonie because I thought it was so adorable!

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.
