Thanks Simple! Yes Shanny I was hoping that others with similar timelines would be able to somewhat base an approval or some sort of action by mine. Glad to know things are going smoothly for you. I am also hoping for the I-129f but realisticly I believe the I-130 to be our best bet. We will pursue both until the end and decide which is best. Hopefully the I-130 will come thru quickly.

Our I-130 was approved on July 14...now what happens? Should I cancel the I-129F? Help!! :help:

Congratulations! I think, you should stick with I-129F for now. After a month or so, you will have a clear idea whether K-3 will worth pursuing.

Now its sent to the NVC where they will process it, there will be more forms and fees and there is a link on here for JAMES SHORTCUTS that aussiewench has posted, I beleive it is in the NVC forum, I plan on following that as best I can. I have no intention of abandoning my I-129f until the very end as there may be hopes of getting my hubby home sooner. If you abandon the I-129f you will have no choice but to wait the I-130 out and some petions dont move as fast as we would all like. That is just my opinion and some advice that I have read from other members. You ultimately have to do what you feel is right for your situation. Good luck.

Thank you, Sherry! I'll check out the NVC area.

Congrats :dance::thumbs: , thanks alot. I am about a week after you even though it was just transfered to CSC. I am hoping for an approval soon.

I do not wish to share any information about this dead end journey.........I have reached my final destination on this train, and it is time for me to get off.

THIS TOO SHALL PASS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"If marriage means you fell in love, does divorce mean you climbed out?"

"You never really know a man until you have divorced him."-Zsa Zsa Gabor

"When a man hath taken a wife, and married her, and it come to pass that she find no favour in his eyes, because he hath found some uncleanness in her: then let him write her a bill of divorcement, and give it in her hand, and send her out of his house. And when she is departed out of his house, she may go and be another man's wife." Deuteronomy 24:1-2

"When you get to the end of your rope, tie a knot and hang on." - Franklin D. Roosevelt

"When one door of happiness closes, another opens; but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one which has been opened for us." - Helen Keller

"Even though you may want to move forward in your life, you may have one foot on the brakes. In order to be free, we must learn how to let go. Release the hurt. Release the fear. Refuse to entertain your old pain. The energy it takes to hang onto the past is holding you back from a new life. What is it you would let go of today?" - Mary Manin Morrissey

The I-130 process at the NVC takes about 2-2.5 months, if everything goes well, and if one is prompt mailing NVC right away. I-129F only stay at the NVC for 1-2 weeks before NVC forwards this one to the Embassy.

Congrats.

My I-130 NOA1 came about 30 days after yours. I hope we get approved soon:)

One thing I read on here somewere regarding the I-129 vs I-130. If you go the I-129 route, then once your spouse arrives in the US you will have to file for green card and do an Adjustment of Status. If you wait for the I-130, then everything is complete and they are pretty much good to go when they arrive. So, for us, if it seems like the I-129 is only going to beat the I-130 bye less than 6 weeks, we will probably just wait.

Since my wife has not really 'applied herself' to this process, I can't get her opinion. This stuff is kind of hard to understand even if english is your first lanquage. And besides, she is a Nurse and is sooooo busy studying for her international boards and TOEFL test.

I know my wife and if she can't work for 3 months once she arrives in the US....OMG!....she will go crazy. Which will drive me crazy. And when we are both crazy....it's gets crazy x 2. DOH!

Just a thought.

Thanks, and your right, that is why we are gonna wait it out, I read from some others that had a longer wait span inbetween thier petitions that they took the I-129f and went back to thier country for thier interview. I dont know if I am correct in this but if that is an option it may be one that we might pursue. Good luck

Thanks for the info Simple!!
