!!!RED ALERT!!!

Today wifey says, "I need money so I can buy new shoes for winter time. I need shoes name (and she spells) U-G-G-S."

I'm thinking, "what the hell are egg shoes?" Then it hits me; she wants some freaking UGGs. "NOOOOOO!" So I ask, "You know those are those UGGly boots all those fat lazy college girls wear with their pajamas, right? You don't want to be like those girls, do you?"

She replies, "There is more than one style."

More than one style? What? Oh man. I just checked the website and they have a few that are kind of high heel style. I'm hoping those are the ones she's talking about. If not, it's going to be a long winter.

If she wants regular uggs, bring up the following points:

-they are not really meant to be worn in inclement weather. They get soaked, smell bad, and are not waterproof.

-they do not offer any real support and will make your feet hurt a lot, especially if you're used to wearing high heels and have shortened arches.

-lastly, there are tons of boots which are way, way cuter and will be waterproof and offer real support.

I'm sad to admit that Anna picked up a pair while she was here. No logic of "their not really winter boots, they'll get wet", will work. She might nod and agree with the points you bring up when you are present, but when you turn your back she'll be walking out the store sporting her new UGGS...

Be strong brother.

Yup... I sure don't see the allure in them, but they are the "hot" item for some reason. My daughter even has a pair... "Look dad!!" Hard to get excited about boots that look like that!

(F) condolences. looks like uggs are spreading like swine flu...what's weird is that they've been plaguing legs for years and people still think they're cool. there are many support groups on facebook such as, 'anyone wearing uggs should have their legs lopped off at the knee.' good luck, people!

Was in Louisville this weekend with my wife and visited my daughter. What was my daughter wearing? Those ugly boots! My wife asked me later why my daughter was wearing such ugly boots.

They're retched!

Timeline: 13 month long journey from filing to visa in hand

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!

LOL my grandmother had a pair of these, and she passed on 12 years ago. They were ugly then and they are ugly now. Should just tell your fiances/wives that they make you go ugh (ugg) when you see them rofl. What happened to the days when us women wanted to wear shoes that made us feel like a woman? I walk my kids to the bus stop every morning going to school, and alot of the moms are wearing these along with their terry cloth robes! ####### rofl, im not going out in my robe, and very well not in these ugly things!
