Proof of mariage with AoS package?

I am wondering if I need to send proof of marriage with the AoS package. I know that I need to send them a copy of my marriage certificate, but I am wondering if I need to send bank account statements, pictures, etc. or if they only require those for the interview.

mmm I'm guessing from Out of Status. I came as a visitor, but not visitor visa, nor vwp.

I did. The reason I was asking here as well, is that, presently, I do not have bank accounts, titles, etc, because I don't have an EAD (so no SSN as well). I plan on getting bank, titles, etc once I get the EAD.

I'm wondering if it would be wise to write them a note saying that my husband and I will be opening joint accounts, once I receive my EAD and that I can bring that proof to the Interview.

You could write the note and put it in the packet, im not in the same situation as you but I did write a few notes and put them in my packet pertaining to issues that my AOS will be having. I really doubt a note would hurt the case.

you're building proof on the bonafides of your marriage, right?

ALMOST ALL UTILITY companies will add a 2nd person to the account, without a SSN, and without any explanation.

A SSN is not required to add 2nd person to a bank account, either, but at some banks, you'll need to bring a copy of the pertinent pages of the Patriot Act with you, show to the Bank Manager.

i was able to get a joint bank account without using a SSN. as long as your husband is a USC you can go into most banks (we chose wells fargo) and be added as a beneficiary for the account. other things that you can get without a SSN, add your name to certain bills, i dont know if you are able to add your name to all the bills you have... but we certainly were able to add my name to the ATT and our tmobile bill.

anything joint is the key, we even sent our dogs vet records. at least you will have something to show in your AOS package and try and build on that before your interview!

I know for sure Wells Frago and BankofAmerica will open an account for you/add you to an account without a SSN. you need at least one ID though(like your passport), and in some cases they ask for two ID's. You could use state ID, driver license, birth certificate as forms of ID.

You've probably heard this before, but ideally it's the USC that's done all the research, read all the stuff, and knows whats going on.
