I wonder if my fiance's congressman/senetor is useful at all.

If I dont hear anything by the exact 3 month mark on the day my case was logged, they're getting a nice nasty call from him.

Or whatever he can do, I'll make him go in person if I have to.

*sigh* I wonder if I should tell him to come visit me again, since we probably wont be seeing eachother for a while.

Question, been looking at others timelines and see that Consulate received is checked. Why? How do I know when the consulate receives my completed case with NVC? I am assuming it's a different process from the IR1 and IR2s I am going through?

As far as I know the consulate doesnt recieve CR/IR cases until NVC has scheduled an appointment for them. For K1/K3's they send it to the consulate through NVC for the consulate to send us P3 (which is how we know its there) and then we have to send that back to get logged before they will give us an interview date.

I've been wondering about that too Rhiann... if interviews for us are starting to look like they won't be until Feb/March, then there's no f'ing way I'm waiting that long to see my fiancé. This is STUPID.

I can't write that letter tonight, because I'm too upset about that and some other things going on right now. I was wondering though if anyone would be willing to post their letters? We can feed off each other's ideas maybe. I dunno...

It is so disheartening to have your NOA2 and your package gone through NVC, then realize that you are going to have to wait approx another 6 months. Especially when many other countries will be with thier SO's in a little over a month.

Are the consulates seperate from the Embassy? Would there be any benefit in also sending letters to the US ambassador?

That's a good point about noting the expiry on the NOA2.. unfortunately I'd be worried about t hem just saying they will automatically extend it... worth a shot to note it though.

US Ambassador might be a good idea too. Who knows. Let's start a letter-writing campaign! LOL
