Awww.... I love that kitteh!

I have a very, very sad kitty story for you all. My downstairs neighbors had this gorgeous cat -- black and white sweety with a great personality and friendly and squishy as anything....

They slid a note under my door this morning to tell me that he'd been hit by a car and had died.

OMG... I cried in my stairwell -- he was such a nice guy and the thing that touched me was that they'd thanked me for being so nice to him. .

My gosh... most kitties are nicer than most people -- he was my buddy.

anyway. It gave me a sad start to the day -- I cried in the carpool car -- good thing they are my friends.

:(

My kitty is safe at home, busting into my bedroom to sleep on the pillows of my bed. For this reason I love her.

My kitty is safe at home, busting into my bedroom to sleep on the pillows of my bed. For this reason I love her.

My uncle once disbelieved his kids that they were closing the basement door every night before going to bed, because every morning the cat was upstairs.

Claiming he didn't like cats very much, this was very upsetting to him (cat hair, knocked over stuff, ect).

One evening he sat down in the basement with the lights off and the door closed waiting, just to see.

The cat jumped up on the door knob, putting all 4 paws on it. Then, it slowly slid it's rear two paws backward until the knob started to turn - then falling it lashed out with it's front leg - catching the knob and pulling it.

The door (not a heavy door, just a light inside door) creaked open a little bit unlatched - the cat reached under it and pulled it the rest of the way open and went upstairs.

Montreal Interviewer: "What do you have in common with each other?"

Peachey: "We're REALLY weird."

Montreal Interviewer (incredulously to me): "Do you agree with that?"

<I think back to several days before the interview. Driving through the country, passing a field with cows...>

Peachey: "MOOOO! MOOOOO! Does this make me weird?"

Me: "No, well yes. Here, let me roll down the windows so they can hear you better!"

Peachey: "MOOOOO!!!!"

<back to interview>

Me: "Yes, yes I do."

Not quite sure why, but this picture reminds me of the magnets I bought about a month ago...

LOLMagnetz. :D

Now that I think about it... I think what got the connection for me was the cat in the picture, and the fact that most of the phrases on these magnets are things you'd usually find on icanhascheezburger.com ... maybe, lol. :)

Def not a myth. I've been invited several times.

It's soo bad on the cows tho. I've heard, of course never was there, that farmers will chase you off with shotguns if they catch you doing it.

Cow tipping actually is a myth. Apparently the cows will (shock!) resist you pushing them over by shifting their weight, and they won't die even if you do (though, y'know, pushing cows over like that is kinda mean). There's an image on that Wikipedia page of a cow laying on its side, perfectly fine.

(Yeah, I know this was from a couple days back, but meh, I'm bored. Anyone have any updates on Montreal? I checked today and no interview, no estimate.)

I wouldn't like to do their job, that's for sure. If you're working the visa section, I would imagine that you would have to do the same thing over and over and over again. Who would want to go into work knowing that everyone sitting in the waiting room is big time on edge?

I was surprised when I found out that it was just Montreal that did my type of visa issuance. It would make a heck of a lot more sense to have the Toronto consulate and even the embassy in Ottawa do this as well. For those out west, it sure gets pricey when there's an interview in Montreal when you're living in Moose Jaw or Canmore.

Vancouver, Calgary, and Edmonton would be some other choices I would make as the Interview Czar or whatever they're calling themselves now. And I'd take pains not to have anyone get interviewed in Winni"stab."

It's even worse for those of us in British Columbia :ranting:
