Montreal taking so long

I'm going to get my fiancee's congressperson in the mix if I don't hear from them by the end of November. This is pretty ridiculous.

(Not that I think they can really do anything at the Consulate stage anyway, but at least there would be more people aware of the problem.)

I think they can, they could open up more consulates to do interviews in Canada - they choose not to. Until the Americans start complaining loudly to their congresspersons - nothing will change - so good for you!

My husband (the USC) contacted his congressman as well. Not that it's going to do much good but you'd think that if enough people were getting involved the might pick up the slack a bit. If not for us, then for the people up and coming.

With all this talk about the Montreal consulate being understaffed, I decided to try to find job postings they had for open positions there. Not surprisingly, even though I was able to find where job postings for the consulate would be, there weren't any listed! Unfortunately, I think the delay is going to continue for a while.

The last time I contacted my congresspeople I informed them that I would be voting for anyone _but_ them in the next election due to them voting for retarded bills.

Not sure they are going to want to help me much.

Would I contact my senator or representative?

I have actually had 1 Senator and 2 Congressmen inquire about our case (from both Illinois since I used to live there, and California - since I live here now) inquire about our case. One of the Congressman sent me the NVC's response and they were basically annoyed that multiple people had inquired about our case. So I have very little faith if this helps...and in our case might hurt the situation. Hopefully not....

Update: Contacted NVC today, advised to wait until after 10/15 to see if we have interviews for November.

I'm totally sending that guy a letter, even though I have not waited nearly as long as you guys.

Just a general complaint letter.

And I was thinking.

I've seen people sue the USCIS for taking forever and messing around with petitions.

I almost wonder if you can sue the consulate, since it's not our fault their staff quit on them and it shouldn't effect us this badly.

I will also write a letter to the consul - although our case is, obviously, complete, the process is wrong and needs to be addressed.
