hi fellow filers.. this immigration thing has tested my patience (and I have a toddler!!!) :goofy::content: just called NVC, and still no case #.. more waiting...

My case was approved on 9/16 and still no case for me.

Welcome to the October NVC thread :dance: and yes there is a delay it can take 2-4 weeks for the file to get to NVC but be sure you speak to an operator because there are times when the AVR MAY NOT BE UPDATED :thumbs:

Looking at everyone's timelines for those who have gotten approved and recieved cases in approx. the last 2 months, there seems to be a trend emerging from USCIS and NVC.

Seems like a batch of approvals from USCIS gets pushed out on Fridays and the petitioner gets notified the following week, while the hardcopy takes about a week to be delivered to the person.

Then, it looks like NVC gets the cases in about 2 weeks from the notification date by USCIS.

It's only my observation based on VJ members timelines, so don't take this "trend" at face value.

Just want to give those who haven't received their approvals yet some hope :-)

Also, I am not an expert on statistics.

My NOA2 says wait about 90 days for NVC. Of course, which one of us is going to do that here? So I've been calling the automated NVC number with my WAC # since yesterday. Still nothing. I figure based on the "trend" that I noticed, I'll give it about 14 days (next Friday, since my NOA2 was approved last Friday) before I start holding for a real live person from NVC.

In the meantime, I've emailed the DS-3032 PDF to my wife so she can print it out, sign it and mail it to me, so I can have it here, and mail it to the NVC when I get that "NVC received my package" notification, at which time my wife will email her Choice of Agent as well, while I send them the hardcopy DS-3032 (which I hope I will receive from Bangladesh in 10 to 14 days with her signature).

My wife should also be posting and checking out forums through our username here, but lucky her.... the internet at her house just died for an undetermined length of time :-(

:ot:

Also.... I noticed something else. The current US / World economic situation has decreased the # of other visa applications that the NVC has to process (like work/student/visiting/etc.), so I think the NVC is getting to these immigrant visas quicker. At least thats my opinion. But things like the economic stimulus plans that makes it harder for US companies to apply for and get work visas for foreignors, which I think has cut down the NVC's burden a lot this year, while at the same time, more USCIS and NVC (the guys from Burger King or McDonalds) were hired this past year (Fiscal Year 2009, we're in FY 2010 right now).

If you have nothing to do on a Friday night, read this interesting article on on decline of h-1B Visa:

http://blogs.ilw.com/h1bvisablog/2009/07/h...thing-more.html

So... I am just saying all that to give our processing wait times some hope. I hope all this makes sense. Feel free to add/disagree.

Everyone keep your head up. Its all happening, but there are clogs and glitches (like with everything else in the beuracratic process).

:clock:

I love it Prince_and_Rose! i think i'm getting the theory fever i just posted a theory on the August thread :lol:

darn nvc, so i check the doc cover sheet from the aos, and it cuts off half the words on the form. i am more than happy to send it as is. but i called nvc, and the lady said that their system is still showing as pending, and it should be updated by monday. she was going to email me a copy of the doc cov sheet, but said since it is still pending on her side, she cannot do anything. i know i wasn't going to send it until monday anyways, but really people <_<

A few other folks have been having tat problem too! In checking with others... seems like it sorts itself out the next business day... Good luck

Just for grins and giggles I called the NVC AVR. I was shocked and surprised to hear that they had no record of my case ;) Well, at least the number is now on speed-dial. I am thinking I won't know anything until I am back in country (off next week -- leaving on Wednesday -- to spend a glorious week down in Peru with my lovely wife :) We'll toast to all y'all with pisco sours :)
