Would you let your Spouse party till the early morning on their own????

After reading many posts and one just today about people partying till the early hours would you honestly let your SO do this with girlfriends/guyfriends without you?? On a personal level no I would be one unhappy bunny if my SO did this to me. How do you feel about this. My SO and I are not into the partying scene anyway so would not make much of a difference. I feel like many do that when you go into a marriage that you should leave the partying scene behind. No I am not boring, we do find other things to entertain us :devil:

At our age? If we were out till 'the wee hours' it'd be because we fell asleep driving home....lol

But seriously....I probably wouldn't be happy about it if Wes were out way late without me. If it was a bachelor party or something like that, it would be expected.

And I wouldn't be going out late without him either. It's just really not that much fun anymore.

My perspective on this is partly based on my age. I'm up in my forties. I did the party party thing when I was younger. So, what might not be interesting or fun for me might not be a sign of a problem with a younger person. Sometimes running around late is just that...running around. You gotta outgrow it.

If he was out till the early hours of the morning with his friends, no I wouldn't have a problem. If he was out till the early hours with some other woman, I'd have a huge problem. Actually I'd kind of have a huge problem if he went out with some other woman no matter how late they were out.

That being said, I really like going out and having a good time WITH him, so I'd prefer that. But guys need some time to just be one of the guys with their friends too.

Exactly what she said, except changing he for she, and woman for man!

We're Christians. We still go out and stuff, sure, but we don't party. And if we ever do, it would be with each other. That's what we BOTH want. No worries...

Absolutely! He does like me to go with him to every single gig and rehearsal and party, but I'm much more of a homebody. I work earlier hours and my weekends are spent riding, so I tend to like to go to sleep early. That doesn't mean I'd begrudge him going out. I know what he's like when pissed up; I see nothing that would bother me.

Christians don't party? I must have missed that bit!

For me personally, it isn't about trust. It's about the fact that I don't see why my SO would want to be out all night partying just to spend time with his m8s. Surely him and his m8s could do something else other than going out partying! IF it were a bacholour party then fine...that is totally expected. If it is once in a blue moon thing then no I wouldn't have a problem with it either. But if it were a norm..then hell no. If I wanted to be with someone younger and not settled, then I would have gone for that type. TBH, Ian and I both hate being out until all hours because he only has the weekends off and we don't like sleeping in all morning and wasting what precious time we have.

What's the point of getting married then?

Don't people get married after they've done all the partying in their lives already?

If it's with her girl friends and they aren't drinking, I wouldn't have a problem, but alcohol changes everything - it greatly impairs one's judgment. I'd make a pact with her that neither one of us will drink alcohol when we're out at night without each other.

Going out with friends for a girls or guys night out every so often without your spouse is healthy for the marriage. It doesn't mean getting punchdrunk and tearing off your clothes in front of strangers.

You shouldn't give up your identity separate from your spouse when you get married. I agree that you make certain personal sacrifices by placing the union between the two of you as the highest priority, but you also don't want to lose yourself in the relationship.

What if part of their identity entails drinking when they go out with their friends? THat doesn't mean that the person is an alcoholic..but you know what i mean. And what is the point of going out and having a good time if you are telling your SO that they can't have a drink or two?? That is a bit controlling don't you think? No one said anything about getting punchdrunk and tearing off your clothes in front of strangers..did they?
