I have a Safariland safety holster which a cop friend of mine gave to me (he'd only used it for about a year before his department issued him a new one, so very little wear and tear). It's also the one which was recommended by the firearms instructor at the company. TBH considering in my year of working hospital security, all of the situations I've been involved in which required use of force were very close quarter and generally involved putting someone on the ground and handcuffing them, or on the bed and using restraints, my biggest fear is someone taking my gun off me rather than being involved in an actual "gunfight" or scenario with someone with a knife or similar. We were however taught some good retention techniques though, and I will also be investing in some body armour so I at least have some protection, and doing some further training in handgun retention with some good instructors in the area.

Okay, guess you are in uniform rather than the blue blazer kaki pants affair where you might be able to conceal your gun. If concealed, a good one is the Kydex Blackhawk Serpa (cheap and rock solid) will keep the Glock firmly attached in the holster even while doing jumping jacks with your nut jobs. Make sure to get a custom gun belt to support your gun and cuffs or whatever if going plain clothes otherwise all of that will be down around your ankles.

I would definately get something big enough to take down an elephant. Never know what you might run into.

I carry a gun because a cop is too heavy.

I'm very happy with my HK USP 40. I'd go with a 40 over a 9.

We have some common ground. ;)

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."
