What do you all use to send your applications in?

It's almost time to send my application in, and I'm torn. I can either use the document box, or I can use a USPS envelope. When I put my application in the box it still has room to move around and I'm kind of worried that things might look like a mess by the time they get to the Vermont Service Center.

So I've decided to take a poll and go from there. I still have a few days before I send my packet in, so as silly as this question might be, take a load off and answer a light-hearted question for a change(instead of those about the dredded RFE's, and other things that can go wrong. :crying: )!

So what did you use to send your application?

Mine is close to 80 pages (I'm very thorough), but there's still wiggle room in that box. It'll fit in an envelope, but I'm just scared for it's safety. It's like my baby I'm shipping!

I heavily front-loaded my petition because I'm dealing with a difficult consulate. There was a separate cover page for each form and it's attachments, as well as cover pages for things like letters of intent. I put stick-on divider tabs on the bottom of the cover pages. Mine was 89 pages.

I two-hole punched all my pages along the top like USCIS recommends. I took the cardboard back panel from a pad of paper and two-hole punched it. I put the Acco fastener through the cardboard panel, and then through the pages. I put the whole thing in a manila envelope and took it to the UPS store for overnight shipping. They put my envelope in a Tyvek UPS envelope.

The Acco fastener keeps the pages from getting scrambled around, and the cardboard back panel protects it from getting beat up around the edges. It doesn't cause any problems for USCIS because they disassemble everything anyway, and reassemble into their own binders.

So what did you use to send your application?

From my K1 to AOS, we had UPS because we wanted to track if it is delivered and who received it. Though having it signed as received, have additional cost, like 6-8$.

We used binder with transparent sleeves so it's easier for the USCIS to check the documents. We also put name and application in front and side of the binder. We used color binder.

My package had a total of 184 pages (mostly emails & chat logs).

Plain manila envelope, just a little bigger than the 8-1/2 x 11" pages.

USPS priority mail, return receipt requested.

The USPS put 2 strong strips of tape saying "PRIORITY MAIL" that were good reinforcements.

It was delivered in 3 days and receipt was received by me 2 business days later,

followed by the NOA1 2 days after that, dated 3 days after I mailed the package.

The total cost was $11.35.

Then use two envelopes. Wrap it with the first one and put that inside the second. I prefer Priority Mail with delivery confirmation.

Facts are cheap...knowing how to use them is precious...

Consulates in third world countries frequently don't look at a single piece of evidence the beneficiary brings to the interview, and will deny a visa based on "red flags" without giving either beneficiary or petitioner a chance to address it. Your best chance of getting these consulates to see your evidence before denying the visa is to include the evidence with the petition.

(with special surprise bonus) for whoever opens the package.

News flash...Canada isn't a third world country. I sent in the required forms, 5 pictures and some phone bills and itineraries. Done - approved!
