Experiences With Early Biometrics / Walk-Ins

At the biometrics appointment they take a photograph and fingerprints. I'm not actually sure if that photograph goes on the 10 year card - maybe someone who has received one can say - but I would assume it does.

I tried searching (VJ and Google) to find out what kind of experiences people had when they just showed up for an unscheduled biometrics appointment.. specifically in St. Louis, but I would like for anyone that has used this option to feel free to share their experience.

I don't intend to use this forum to advocate this action, I just want to know what the people that did choose to do so experienced when they did it. This being said, I would appreciate greatly if members refrained from making off topic posts such as .. “Wait your turn” and “There is a reason they make appointments.”.. etc., etc.

My husband & I live in Brooklyn, NY. His appointment is not until Oct.15. We read that going early was easy so he decided to try it. He went last week on 2 different days & got denied. They said he had to come back on the exact appointment date. Although discouraged, we decided to try one more time. We went this Saturday & the manager (I think) was very nice & let my husband do it. So it's worth a try...even a 2nd & 3rd try. Good luck!

I was really hoping to get my wife and daughters biometrics done early but we still haven't received our daughters bio letter YET. We got my wife's bio letter 2 weeks ago, ugh .. 1 more week and the scheduled date rolls around for my wife, now I'm just hoping my daughters letter gets here before then..

i was scheduled oct 3 for my biometrics and did early walk-in on sept 26, a week earlier.Didnt have problem, they only asked for my bio appointment and id.Got approval of removing of condition oct 2

wow this is really good info.. as we never really know if doing early bio actually works , and you are proof that it does because you got approve before your actual bio appointment awesome i'm sure a lot of people will enjoy reading this.

oh and country boy a lot of asc's accept walk ins some don't like where i live in socal there's too many applicants and they said they don't take walk ins. good luck

Good to know. I have just received my NOA1 and waiting on the Biometrics appointment which will be in the Kansas City office, so hopefully I can go up early as well.

I am glad I walked in and did the early bio because from the looks of it, it helped me get approved fast. Even my fellow Sept filers who got approved recently were early walk ins too. They are very friendly and accomodating at KC ASC.

I had to do an early bio because I will be traveling to Chicago during the scheduled date. I decided to first try a walk-in in Santa Rosa, CA (about a 1hr30min drive each way for me) and if it didn't work I would send the request to change the date (which could also coincide with one of the other 3 work trips I have to make by December).

Anyway, I brought a copy of my itineraries/flights in case they gave me a hard time for going for an early walk-in. I arrived in Santa Rosa support center around 1PM and there was only one person ahead of me waiting. The officer was really kind and let me do the early bios without questions. I guess because they were not so busy. But in any case, I had the itinerary printed out so he could see I couldn't make to my original schedule date.

I also did a walk-in biometrics for my N-400/Citizenship application recently this year, September 2009, in Buffalo, NY.

Lol..I guess the walk-ins worked for me for both the I-751 and for the N-400!

In my opinion, if you can do a walk-in and want to do such for a valid and legitimite reason, I say, "Go for it!"...

Has anyone done their bios early in Nashville TN?

My husband had his bio appt. today at the Oklahoma City USCIS Office. and it only took 5mins. Just a word of caution if you have your bio appt. in OKC, they will turn you away if you try to do an early walk-in. They wouldn't even let people in early for their scheduled appt. so they are a bit strict at that office.
