Signatures must be in English on G-325A and other forms?

Hi Everyone,

I am currently assembling the forms that my fiance sent back to me to complete our I-129F package but noticed that he signed off his name on all the forms with Japanese characters instead of English characters. Will this cause a problem or should I ask him to send the forms with his English Signature on all of them? He filled out the information in English but it's just his signature in Japanese that I'm worried about. Please help. Thanks!!!!

Hello, my fiancee signed her G-325A in Chinese character, though she printed her name in English, her "signature" was in Chinese and it wasn't a problem. I hope someone can give you a more definitive answer though. Best of luck to you both.

Every document my fiancee signed was signed using only her given name, and using Vietnamese script, which is similar to Latin script but with heavy use of diacritical accent marks. We haven't had any problems so far.

Signing her middle and family names would have been superfluous. More than half the people in the country have the same family name (it's so common that it's often abbreviated "Ng."), and most women have the same middle name which simply denotes their gender.

We also submitted ours with her name signed in Kanji. No issues with the application.

I signed mine in Serbian Cyrillic alphabet. No problem at all.

a signature is a signature. My wife's signature is completely incomprehensible in any laguage know to earthbound man...seriously. There is NO WAY it is English and doesn't resemble anything but hyroglyphics to me. It IS her signature and it WAS accepted on any and all official forms before and since. It appears on her green card, drivers lisence, cell phone contract and bank signature card. It is on many many translations in the Kiev and Moscow consulates. That crazy chicken scratch is legal anywhere. If it asks for printed "name" we use the English translieration of her name. When it asks for "signature" she winds up her arm (either one...seriously, she signs her name with either hand and it looks as unitelligible either way) And makes a 14 milisecond scratch of the pen and that is that.
