Comments : RFE for needing to take vaccinations / medical examination was in error. USCIS lost or misplaced medical documents my wife submitted to the immigration officer upon entry to US. Contacting USCIS directly did not reveal any information other than what was listed on the RFE, so we had our congressman contact them. Voila! Medical documents magically found and our case is moving forward again.

Consulate Review: Tokyo, Japan
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : November 21, 2009
Embassy Review : Smooth process. As the petitioner, I was able to attend the window for all parts except the actual interview portion (which I was able to observe/hear from the waiting chairs just a few feet away.)

Embassy setup feels like the DMV here in the States. All preliminary information gathering and the final interview take place at one of 10 or so windows that are lined up along the wall of the waiting area.

Observed that the immigration officers were professional and courteous, most couples seemed to be moving through the process without issues.

Start to finish took about 2 hours, mostly just waiting to be called up to the window for different items. The interview itself was about 10 minutes.
Rating : Very Good

POE Review: Portland

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
