I would not expect any actions for at least a month and a half or so. You don't want to get anxious too early or you will burn out.

Got touched again today. So that's twice in 2 days! Hope it's only good things and no RFE's!

I'm hoping good things for you!!!!

I'm still waiting to see if my check was cashed.. and to finally know whether or not I signed that form! :bonk:

I can't believe it's taking so long for your stuff to get cashed. Maybe you didn't sign it and they're sending it back already. If that's the case, then sign that baby and pop it right back out in the mail the same day so we can get the ball rolling for all of us!!!

I was looking to see if yours had been cashed! If yours had, and mind hadn't, then I was really going to be worried. It's a good morning for both of us I guess. Really, I don't think I have ever been this happy to see money taken out of my bank account!

WOW, did you guys see this one?

Hi everyone,

I just received an email from the USCIS stating "On September 28, 2009, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E)." Can anyone tell me if this is this my NOA2?

I filed the I-129F ~Aug. 23 and my NOA-1 was issued on Aug. 25, so I was a little surprised by this email (seems early). The USCIS website has my case status as "Post Decision Activity" (it was in "Initial Review"). I'm a little worried that maybe I've just been denied or something, but both the website and the email state "approved" and I don't think there's a reason they would deny me. I haven't received anything in the mail yet (just got the email and text message tonight), so maybe it's just a glitch in their new website? I guess I'll cross my fingers for now.

When I checked Igor's List, this morning, there are now 7 August filers who were approved in September. One actually had only 11 days between NOA1 and NOA2 ( but three months between the time they sent the packet and got the NOA1.. that confused me a little and I'm still not sure I was reading it correctly).

I know we shouldn't get our hopes up that things could go this quickly, but it sure is hard not to .

Correction.. I looked at the list again and they had 6 days between NOA1 and NOA2.. but the petition was filed in March. So strange that they would wait 5 months for NOA 1. Maybe they entered something in thier timeline wrong.

I'm a little more dubious myself of those quick turn arounds. Most of them are at VSC, and only one at CSC (where I filed) and it wasn't a K-1 filing as far as I could tell. I think it gives a lot of false hope and I'd rather be glass is half empty right now than half full. Like someone said above. It's stressful and tiring being so gungho so early.

It makes more sense to attribute the quick turn around of some August filers to VSC trying to pad their numbers, because there's whole lot of people before the lucky ones in March to July that don't seem to have been touched. :(

Not to be a Debbie Downer, but y'know... ^^;

The Process, Part 1

09/09/09 - I-129F sent certified mail express to CSC.

09/10/09 - I-129F received and signed for by INS Express Mail.

Im with you. Id rather expect a 3-4 months wait and be happily surprised than expect an ultra quick approval and be disappointed.

After all the prep and stress around the application in the last few months, my goal is now to exert great self-control & stay away from the USCIS site for 1 week, and also to spend a little less time on VJ over-analysing everything. not sure I'll manage but I'll try! ;) I need to focus on something else for a change. (Not saying everybody should do the same - Im just trying to preserve the little sanity I have left!! :D )

I agree that we are also expecting a long wait, but I can't help but think of the possiblity of getting an ealier response. Ecspecially since the embassy they are going to already has a long waiting process. I'm realistic in the fact that where my future daughter-in-law is coming from is more likely than not to go through more screening than many others here. I guess what I'm saying is we're expecting a long haul, but the sight of a quick turn around for so many people is fun to see. Kind of makes you say what if........
