You're right. It helps to talk to people who are going through the same things and can understand you. My honey is actually verrrrry supportive and encourages me a lot. He is giving me precious advice on how to handle stress and worry less. I couldnt ask for more. Its just that I have been a person who worries too much all my life so Im still trying to change this.

Maybe we should all get together next year when we will be with our future husbands / wives. We should have a big party or something :)

I'm volunteering Kings DOminion for the party. I can get you all a great deal on hotel rooms and free entrance to the park :)

I'm not losing my hair from the stress.. YET.. but I am seriously considering botox to get rid of the frown line I am developing.!!

Why is everybody so quiet tonight???

Kjenkins, of COURSE we'll all stay around. There's still AOS to go through and a bunch of other stuff. Besides, if all else fails there's facebook, and various IM applications. Maybe we should create a facebook group, LOL. I think I'll get on that one...I'm bored out of my mind!

I just joined the facebook group!

I am headed back to the states with my Fiance tomorrow. Over all, our Visa Journey was a very smooth one. Thanks to everyone that helped and provided information along the way, and of course, good luck to all.

Awesome! I'm a litte late in getting caught up on these posts.. but you must be on your way now!!!

Well, it's my last day here... Fuat is at work and I am in the hotel, packing and getting everything ready so that I will have it all out of the way when he gets here at 8:00pm. Fighting back the tears.. he hates it when I cry, so I have to get it all out before he comes back.

When I was here in May, he surprised me and left work early.. hoping he does that today, but he's had to miss so much work for getting police reports, birth certificates, photos, extending passport, medical, etc. that I am not counting on it. Going to be ready though.. just in case.

Tomorrow is really, really going to suck.. and a 14 hour flight home, when you are so depressed, is not a lot of fun. Most of the time I just sit on the plane, trying not to cry, so all the other people don't stare at me and wonder what the hell is wrong.

Kayla.. I found the perfect way for you to learn French. Forget Rosetta Stone. Just spend 3 days with his family, while he is at work for 15 hours a day.. since none of them speak English it will force you to learn.. and FAST. My limited Turkish came in handy, but wow was it a strain sometimes. But we managed and I know a lot more than I did when I went to their home three days ago :)

Unfortunately, the more you learn ... the more you understand.. even when they think you don't. This morning, they thought I was asleep and his mom and sister were talking.. and his mother was saying somethign about whether or not I would be a good wife for him. I'm not sure if she said I would or wouldn't.. I wanted to pull out my dictionary, but couldn't since they were sitting right next to me and they thought I was sleeping. Now that I am back in the hotel, I can't remember exactly what she said to look it up :)

Although I am not happy to be back in the hotel, since that means I leave in the morning.. I am happy to be back in a building that has a Western toilet. If any of you have been to Asia you know what I mean!! I don't want to offend anyone that comes from a country with that kind of "plumbing", I manage.. but it takes a little getting used to :)

You'll be a fantastic wife, I'm sure she said that. Just think ...in just a few more months, you two get to be together for the rest of your lives. It's sad today... but hang in there. Safe Flight!

Kayla: Women are just much more attentive than men. I'm glad you found your prince charming!

Jenn: HI!! You have on that ice pak?

I've never been to kings dominion, heard it's fun though. I really do hope that after we're through w' this process that we still stick around to tell each other how amazed our sweethearts were at seeing certain things in the US.

Botox? Oh no!

Jenn, I hope you get your wish of him leaving work early. When I'm leaving Jamaica, at the airport, I cry and I don't care who stares. Not on the plane though, they'll kick you off in a minute for being psycho.

Jenn you're funny! You understood enough to know what they're were saying but not if you were good enough? Ha ha, funny.

I'm not sure what kind of "plumbing" there is in Asia but I do hope it's not the deeeep holes in the ground that has a wood square box on top that they refer to as the "toilet" No flushing, saves water! Eew!!! And that's exactly why I rent somewhere everytime.

What in the world happened to Nydvo?? I guess having too much fun & playing catch up!

hey all!

kjenkins86, you must be so excited! you're going down there in 1 week? i bet you're beyond ready! :)

jenn, ugh last day...what a bummer. i know what you mean about the crying - my honey doesn't like it either, especially because then it makes him want to cry and of course you know that MEN DON'T CRY. ;) and i of course am a faucet. BUT i hope you had a fantastic time with him!

i am currently stalking my consulate in the hopes of getting an interview on one of the days we'd like...they only book for a few days each day, and don't move on to book the next day until the previous slots are filled. so, i called last week and they only had 4th of jan. then i called today and they are working on the 7th & the 11th...we're hoping for Wed the 13th since that will give us Mon & Tue to prepare (and spend some "quality time together" ;))...i'll be going down there Sat but we'll be with his kids on the weekend so...not much time to do other stuff. So, now i have to play the timing game...i'm thinking my next try will be tomorrow afternoon or thurs morning...i really hope we can get it soon, i'm going to be such a stressball until we have it set!

also, my love is doing his medical today. in fact, right now. keep your fingers crossed for us!

have a great day, all...

Ha Kjenkins.. no ice pack. Was with the family for three days.. not so much as saying "I love you" let alone touching each other in any way. It's rare that we even sit next to each other when we are there. Cultural thing.. never show romantic affection in public and defintely NOT in front of parents :) The closest I have come to needing an icepack is when I thought I had twisted my wrist when he, his mother and sisters were trying to teach me traditional Turkish dances. But that was fun :) I'll put some pictures on here when I get home. Well, now that I think about it, I did touch his hand then.. but that was the limit :)

Of course, I wouldn't mind needing an ice pack on the flight home.

You know, I sometimes wonder about the men on this site and if they just shake their heads when they read comments by you, Kayla or myself in regards to those ice packs. Sorry guys.. we should remember that it's not just women reading our "girl talk".

As for Asian plumbing... similair to what Kjenkins describes.. not exactly the same, but same general idea. I really wonder how senior citizens use them.. I guess they just get strong leg muscles after using them their whole life? :) OK.. enough "potty" talk.

One more hour and he will get off work and then it will take him about 30 minutes to get here... time is going so so so so slow.

Oh don't feel bad for the guys on here, you should feel bad for the guys I work with. There's 3 of them, and 12 of us in our store. And each of them is just like me. Those poor, poor boys. The things they have to hear! But one of them combats it by saying "That's what she said" every 3 minutes, LOL.

Even if I learn french perfectly through Rosetta Stone it still wont be the french they speak in Quebec. So I'll still have a lot of learning to do. Mathew's parents try the best they can to speak to me in English and I just feel awful that I'm not returning the favor by learning french. I think if I spent 3 days alone with them I'd probably be in tears. I have this thing about when they talk in french I think they're saying bad things about me. I dunno why. Apparently they love me.

Jenn, you're going to be the bestest wifey ever! They're just wondering because that's what families do. Don't let it get to you!

Rosetta stone is great for building language skills, but I found it wasn't always what I needed to know for Antonio's parents. I hired an Italian teacher in the area that is from Rome to concentrate on the kinds of things I needed to go to the beach, and hang out with his family. And once you start learning regular conversation you will pick up buckets with the rosetta stone and things like

Wordreference.com I use it to focus on expanding my vocabulary, especially verbs. Most words even have pronunciation included.

Ive been away for like 2 days and was happy to see so many posts in here. I always enjoy reading them. Ive been 'visiting' the dentist lately and it wasnt much fun so i didnt feel like doing anything else anymore.

Jenn, was trying to figure out what Turkish toilets are like, then it hit me. Some public toilets in here still have them and they're actually called Turkish toilets. Lol. Yea, they pretty much suck. But its just one tiny detail. Turkey has a lot of wonderful things to offer. And one thing is the food. I love it. We have a lot of turkish recipes in our cuisine. As I said in a previous post, Ive read alot of posts on the Turkish topic so I can understand that Turkish families and Turkish men might have different demands when it comes to a future daughter in law / wife. Nevertheless, you will be a great wife. You will learn to adjust to each other's culture in such a way so that you can be both comfortable.

Im sure we will still keep in touch even when we will be with the loved ones. For sure we wont be posting that much, but we might need to ask each other for advice every now and then. We will probably exchanging tips on how to make our husbands as happy as possible ;)

And yea, I think King Dominion would be a great place for the party. I checked the website and i cant wait to see the real thing. :jest:

Kayla:correction, there's a difference between wife & wifey. Wife is when you're actually married. Wifey is when he tells you you're his wife, but you have no ring or wedding plans!

Get that interview!

LOL, Mathew likes to call me Bridezilla. But if he saw what my friends were like when they were brides he'd call me a Saint!

I'm not ready but if I was to leave now, I'd go in my birthday suit (naked) Lol

Goodluck with the medical!

Jenn: Oh really? When I'm around my parents with him, we hold hands, giggle, poke each other... And when night falls, I tell my dad "it's bed time" and he smiles and say he knows what that means. So wait, where do you sleep???

There aren't much men though.

Ha to the potty talk & strong legs..
