Good morning all, here is a wednesday morning question... I have the I-864 AOS package complete and ready to go with a cover sheet in a nice clean, crisp, idiot proof presentation that is also pleasing to the eye. My question is as soon as the AOS shows paid can I mail my package to NVC or do I have to wait till the NVC sends their specific package instructions to my email? Is there something that the NVC mails to you that you need to include when you send your package or is it just the I-864 or EZ form the same as the one you can DL? I need to know because I already have this completed. I have a bar coded imprint on my cover sheet and everything is ready to go. Let me know what I can do to help speed through this. thank you much!

james

You can just print the cover sheet that is on the site once it shows and send the 864 form right away. They wont send anything special to you.

I'm so excited guys and gals to see everyone moving through this process. Seems like every day I get to see new people coming in, people getting their NVC number, just flying through this. Those of you waiting on a number, it will get there soon - no worries! We're all in this together. All of you are just great - and the fact that we've got people who are further on providing feedback and giving advice makes it all the more valuable.

Things can be so frustrating... NVC got my AOS bill and im waiting on them to accept my DS 3032 and my sponser has been calling me filling out everything and getting everythng ready and today when he was supposed to FedEx the whole thing to me i get an emailing saying :

I am not too sure about this anymore. What if your husband files for welfare- can we do a contract make sure your responsbile and what if he is anti american- he is from Pakistan after all.

I am going crazy!!!!! I think the government is doing a good job with screening people from pakistan, every other person is on AP- THis stinks because this was the only sponser I could find...nobody else makes enough or is willing to help :(

oH wow... The co sponsor thing is so hard huh?

I am so grateful I have a reliable one.

Maybe you could just write a letter and sign it to say you accept responsibility, just for your co sponsor, not NVC or anything? It might put their mind at rest?

Well my USC hubby just called NVC and gave our emails ;)

He said they were nice on the phone and said they'd send the bill out and took his email and confirmed they also had mine!

Yipppeeeer!

So what cover sheet are we talking about? I mean my cover sheet has the bar code that was given to me for the DS3032 and the case number then lists all the docs included in sequence, plus it is notarized by a military lawyer. If they do not send anything special after they submit instruction to petitioner/sponsor than I can mail my package as is after the AOS bill shows paid? I mean, i wouldnt want to wait all day after seeing AOS bill paid and then there is a lag time before they send me the instructions at night. I am a night shift worker so I am going to hop into my bed soon, was hoping that they would be finished with the AOS stuff before 12 or 1pm today EST so I can mail this package in overnight. I need my sleeeeeeeep.. got another long 13 hour mid shift.

I already agreed to sign an indemnity agreement stating that I will be responsible in case my husband files for welfare and the government goes after my joint sponser...

I really have no clue what got into him- he had offered himself and I have been asking him throughout the 5 month+ process to make sure he is definately on board and he kept reassuring me he is...

congrats on getting your case number!

Hey there,

I am really sorry to hear that. Seems like we are having the same problems. About three people have said that they can't sponsor for me. I don't really have any adult friends, most of my friends are students. I know that the welfare thing is kind of complicated but I mean if your husband doesn't ask for it then it shouldn't matter. Your boss shouldn't have said yes without realizing what he was doing. When you make a promise to someone you better fulfill it.

Can your parents sponsor him? I know my can't.

Probably a little case of cold feet with the co-sponsor, or someone else getting into their head saying "you should not have done that" etc... Just keep reassuring him of your responsibility and play the guilt card that you would not be able to be together without him and your gratefulness.... It's kind of like how all your friends say ":if you ever need my help, just let me know" but strangly enough, no one is ever available on moving day to help you move...lol... just keep up the thanks (aka...guilt) and reassure him this is just a paperwork technicality....

Neither can mine- they don't make enough money to support 7 dependents (that would include my hubby and I)...

Most of my friends are students as well- what stinks is that I graduated 2 years ago and worked right after my graduation and I was making enough money but at that time we didnt plan on moving to america so I never filed...

I moved to Pakistan and I live with really abusive (verbally, mentally, and emotionally) in-laws and my husband and I just want to get out of here now and start our lives- plus I have been going back and forward between Pakistan and America and I really can not settle down here...

I hope things work out with your sponsor also

That is exactly what it seems like!!! he was all on board before and the whole thing was his suggestion but now when its time, its all second thoughts...

he wants to meet with my entire family in america now to make sure we are all normal "americans"- stereotyping, yes- but now im desparate..and beggers cant be choosers

Sigh... so NVC is back to telling me they have no record of my case number.

Donna and I have the same approval date, so I'm praying that I get my number today. I guess they just got to processing hers before mine--you lucky girl! :P

The cover sheet im talking about is the one it lets you print on the site you paid your AOS fees. Once it changes to paid status you can print a cover sheet by going to the receipt page.

Omg he is a freaking racist. But you are right you don't have any option. You have to ask when you have to. I have asked so many people and a lot of them have said no or they don't make enough money. I am still in school. I feel like people just say sorry but they don't mean it. Christeen is right, friends tell us to call them whenever in need, but when we really need them they are not there for us. I feel like God has asked a lot from me in this whole process. I haven't seen my husband in like 9 months. I hope that guy sponsors for you. You probably hate him by now but just take his help if possible.

I don't know about me. I haven't been able to study at all.

Take care
