How did you find out about them forwarding it to CSC on 08/07? Did you find this out after the fact? I can't see any way that I will be able to determine anything about my case until I get a receipt number... I will definitely be calling them on Monday (and everyday until I can view my case on my own; the lower the level of customer service they provide me, the more determined I will become (sort of bureaucratic Hulk :)

Trust me...USCIS will say ANYTHING to get you off the phone. And it's hard to get a consistent answer. Good luck and trust me, NVC is way better. ^ ^

Hello all, I am new but have sent my I-130 on 8/18 and was received on 8/20. I looked on my cancelled checked and found the receipt#. I was not able to view it until 8/27 which it shows as the receipt date. I also received the hardcopy in the mail on 8/29. So now waiting until the next step, NOA2!

YAAY!:dance: when did they cash the check??

My check was cashed 8/27, which is my wifes birthday. And as was said your actual WAC# is the receipt# on the back of the check + 1.

My package was opened on 8/17. My check was cleared two days later. I couldn't get the WAC # to work online, so I called USCIS to get some help. They were actually very friendly and gave me my receipt number. I don't think you can get the number before your check clears. my WAC # on the check was off by one digit-you add one to the last digit to get the right number. I've also had three touches since then, but that means nothing! I'm guessing they opened my package on 8/17 (they got it by fedex at 7PM on Friday 8/14, due to a fedex "national disruption" so I'm assuming no one looked at it until Monday) because they returned my photo book back to me that day.

The waiting sucks! But I'm here!

PS My NOA1 date was the same day the check cleared.

Our timeline:

2/88: We met in Sydney, Australia at a youth hostel! He's Finnish, I'm American-both were in our early 20s at the time and fresh out of college (so couldn't afford to visit each other's countries after that!). We had a three-day romance, then went our separate ways. He actually was going to Sydney a week later, but decided at the last minute to cut his trip short in another country and go early. Wow.

1988-1998: Wrote "snail mail" letters/sent Xmas cards, but lived our separate lives. I married someone else, divorced in 2006...he lived with someone for years and then that ended.

10/08: Because of a series of random life events, I Googled my Finn Man and found him (but no link to his email, and the website his name was on was in Estonian so I couldn't even read it!). It took me two weeks to find a link to someone else, who forwarded my email to him (we were both single at the time thankfully!!!!). The email went to his spam folder but he happened to check it that day and responded back to me immediately! This was after 10 years of no contact and almost 21 years of not seeing each other after we first met.

11/08-5/09: We traveled back and forth to visit each other. Love at first (second?) sight!

7/09: Married in Helsinki, Finland...after meeting randomly 21 1/2 years ago and finding each other again!!!!!

8/13/09: I-130 sent!!!!!!!!!

Rest is on my timeline!

when i checked case status online, it said that they received our package on the 7th :) the date on the NOA1 could be anywhere around the date of getting the package, cashing the check or a little after...just my observation :) i actuallly still don't know the date of our NOA1 since we still don't have it yet. but it's coming soon :star:

Trust me...USCIS will say ANYTHING to get you off the phone. And it's hard to get a consistent answer. Good luck and trust me, NVC is way better. ^ ^

ooh i know. when my hubby called before the rep named amanda was so rude, she was all if you don't have it after 30 days so and so... we know it's a standard answer but when my hubby tried to explain further, the b***h said "do you need me to explain this to you again?" in a rude manner.

hey finn, thanks for all your help. the 60 was ours :) it's all fixed now. we got a much better rep after the 2nd call :) they also made sure that the address change to PO box was in their system. so we shouldn't have any more problems with the mailing stuff :) i am so happy
