Hi everyone,

I checked my I-485 status on USCIS website and found out this:

Current Status: Card Returned as Undeliverable

On August 14, 2009, the post office returned the Card we mailed to you as undeliverable. Please call 1-800-375-5283 to update your mailing address.

so I called the number and they told me that I have to wait for 45 days and they will deliver it again. But I'm just so curious that I never move and never change my address and I did receive all the mails they sent before.

How come this "important one" is undeliverable? :crying:

Did this happen to anyone?

Should I make a inforpass or just wait for them to deliver again?

When you called - did they confirm they have the correct address?

If so, then one thing you should do; put your name(s) on the inside of your mailbox (on the inside of the lid, on the bottom, someplace the mail carrier will see). (No matter if you have received mail from them at the same address before or not.)

When I called, the lady said she doesn't have any access to get any information about me. So the best thing she can do is write down my information I provide to her and ask USCIS to redeliver the mail again.

Also, I did put my name and apartment number on my mailbox and I asked someone from the post office. They told me that I didn't make any mistakes ( cus' they saw my name and apartment number are both on the mailbox). So the problem will probably be the person who sent the mail didn't put correct infromation on the mail ( typing error or no apartment number). I guess I just have to wait and see what's going to happen later :crying:

I would like to think the customer service rep. would be able to verify the address - apparently you were lucky to get one that couldn't (unless they really can't) - I'd suggest an infopass appointment if nothing comes in the next several days.

An I-90 could also be submitted at some point - but I'd see what happens first.

I remember I needed to sign for delivery, so maybe you weren't home, but at least they should have left you a notice.

+1 I would also suggest calling again to verify your address. If this does not work, do the infopass.

Thank you for all the suggestions. I did call and provide my address again. They want me to wait for 45 days for them to redeliver the card again. I will wait for couple weeks and maybe have inforpass later.

Again, thanks for all the help. Really appreciate it.

I'm about to cry right now. Here's the following story after "card returned as undeliverable"

After I received the note of "card returned as undeliverable", I made a customer service request. They asked me to wait for at least 45 days for them to re-mail it again. I waited. Nothing happened.

So I made another customer service request and an infopass. They told me they will send the card as soon as possible. But, after two weeks, I received an e-mail asking me to pay them to process a new permanent resident card. I was very angry because it's not my fault that I can't get my permanent resident card.

Therefore, I printed out the e-mail and made another infopass. During the infopass, they found out the customer service requests I had before never reach to California Service Center( where my permanent card is ). Those requests were all sent to the wrong service center. So, this time the infopss officer made another customer service request again and asked California Service Center to re-mail the card.

Here comes the best part. I just got a mail today. I opened it. It says "...... As a courtesy, we have enclosed your Permanent Resident Card with this letter......." Then I checked inside the envelope, I didn't see any Permanent Resident Card!!!!!!!!!!! They didn't even put the card in!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have no idea what to do and how long I have to wait. I'm going to make another infopass.( customer service request doesn't help at all) If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know. I REALLY NEED HELP :crying:
