I'm not sure about how detailed this should be and I don't see any examples.

How long should this be? Would this be sufficent?

I (My Name) have lived and worked in Japan as a (my job) for the XYZ Company through August 2004 to July 2009. (her name) has lived in Japan from *********. April, 2007 on the internet on a website named “My Space” we became acquainted. A few days later we met in person at a bar in Roppongi Tokyo. (Her Name) was with a friend name (friends name), I was alone.

We started dating immediately and have done so since that time. We have traveled together many times to locations such as China, Burma, and South Korea. We have been in daily contact since meeting either in person, email or using skype.

I look at that and think it is aweful. But is that what they want?

I wrote a 3-page letter stating how we met.. John wrote a shorter one.. It sounds fine, but may be you should talk a little about your future plans and why you're filing a K1? I don't know if there's a certain standard for a letter of 'intent', it's just my opinion..

It's not awful - it is short, contains details and is to the point. (I made some suggestions - but just my 2cents worth.)

Way too much information. I wrote two sentences. They only want information on when you met, not why yoiu met, who you had dinner with. The information about your ongoing relationship will be needed at the interview.

I wrote, more or less, as I can remember:

We met online and then began corresponding using email, phone calls, Skype video conferencing and text messages. We both travelled to and met in Kiev, Ukraine from Feb. 14, 2009 to Feb. 24, 2009.

There is no need to tell you love story. 3 pages from one poster, wow.

Phil (Lockport, near Chicago) and Alla (Lobnya, near Moscow)

As of Dec 7, 2009, now Zero miles apart (literally)!

Like Phil, I wrote 2 or 3 sentences. It fit in the box. Factual and straightforward, not a romantic story.

Be very careful with such advice, please. USCIS doesn't care about this extra information (true), but the consulate certainly will. Tougher consulates have been known to throw the fiance(e) out of the interview after only a couple of minutes, with the excuse "not enough evidence of relationship!" and refusing to consider what has been brought as evidence. Therefore, it is exceptionally prudent to "front-load" the I-129F package with "evidence of relationship" depending on the actual or anticipated difficulty with the consulate. Accordingly, because Myanmar is a desperately poor country with the suspicion of visa fraud lurking in the minds of the U.S. consuls, I strongly recommend doing "too much" (meaning, 3 pages if that's what it takes to be thorough), and following what Otto revised for you. If such evidence is included in the I-129F filing, the consulate cannot deny its existence. Keep your eye on the big picture, always.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).
