What do you guys think, this means? Fiance can qualify for Community College Residence Tuition?? now?? or not until 1 year later??

He will not be eligible for in-state tuition until he has lived in California for 1 year. Depending on what he wants/needs to do he could take ESL for a year, then enroll in a program after a year.

I agree - that's what I am reading too - you need to have spent a year in the state to qualify for in-state tuition.

HEY i went to community college here in louisiana and it means if u r not living in california for more than one year then u can enroll but u have to pay the tutuion as a foreign student which is almost 3 times than the free for the people they have residency of california. i paid almost $800.00 per semester bcz i was not resident in losuisiana and the tution fee was about $250.00 if u r resident of louisiana. that was in the year of 1981. hope i make some sense to understand that. but if you s.o. is looking to take ESL classes in California most community colleges have a non-credit free program. my husband did that and took some other classes to occupy his time until he could work.

YES, she can . she will be paying as a normal resident of the state because she's now wife of the resident

After 1 year after the date of issuance of her residency card. Have the same case, I'm paying out of state tuition for my credit class this fall. An additional 75 dollar for a 3 credit course.

I checked for Arizona, and there was a special provision for the spouse of a resident of the state. Read a bit further and see if that isn't the case for you.

I tried in two different community colleges. The system only allows in-state tuition for people who got their residency summer of 2008. I have to be here for 1 year before i could have the in-state tuition.
