Hi, you still don't get an alien number. What you get is USCIS #. You could check it online at https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/caseStatusSearchDisplay.do It might not be available for a while, ours became available the day they approved our petition. So, don't worry if it doesn't work for a while.

Good luck and have a safe journey

Once you are able to see your case on the USCIS website you will see a date next to the case #. They will update this every once in a while when they look at your case. While I was waiting for my K-1 to be approved we had no touches, it was approved and then an email. I am dealing with AOS now and they are touching my case a lot. So who knows. Good Luck!!

The A# (Alien Registration number) will be on your NOA2/Approval Notice - under the beneficiary's name. For most folks, this is where the A# will first appear.

On our NOA2 we were given a case number CDJXXXXXXXXXXXX, is this the alien number? On certain forms an alien number is requested but I can't find one for my fiance.

A# on the NOA2 would above the benificiary's name - it is not the Case number and begins with "A."
