Event Description
Review Date : July 13, 2010
Embassy Review : We had our visa interview on May 23, 2009. We arrived in CDJ on Sunday May 18, 2009 and stayed at the Holiday Inn near the consulate. On Monday morning my fiance and her son went for the medical exams and were finished after 4 hours. My fiances results were finished that day but we had to wait until Thursday for the results for her son. On Friday my fiance and her son went to the open appointment at 8:00 a.m. and returned at 3:00. My fiance was denied for her visa. She was given a blue paper with section 212 a 6 c i mark as the reason for the denial. We return on Monday, July 20, 2009 for her waiver appointment and again stayed at the Holiday Inn. She went to her waiver appointment, turned in the waiver, paid for the DHL, and she returned at 12:00. We waited until Wendesday July 22, 2009 for the DHL package and our case was backlogged.
On July 2, 2010 we receive a letter from USCIS which stated the I-601 waiver was approved.
My fiances open appointment was scheduled for September 20, after waiting nearly 8 week for the open appointment date from the date of the waiver approval.
I arrived in CDJ on Thursday, September 16 after driving from San Antonio, TX and my fiance flew in from Monterrey on Friday, September 17, 2010 and went straight to the medical clinic. She received her results that afternoon about 5:30. Monday she went to her open appointment at 7:00 a.m. and didn't come out until almost 4:00 in the afternoon. The consulate was pretty backed up from the previous week because of the Mexican Indepence Day celebration when the consulate was close on Wendesday, Thursday, and Friday. The DHL packet didn't arrive until Friday afternoon at 4:00 p.m. She returned to Monterrey on Wendesday morning and I waited for the DHL package. I was able to receive the DHL packet after we and two witnesses signed a form.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
