Of the 97% of the people who worked with me who had kids, I'd say 50% of them knew what "mummy" did for a living-so yes, I do plan on telling my kids. Go out to LA and talk to some of these ladies and gents, and you'll see how they balance family life with an adult entertainment career. It can be done, and well. What, do you think porn stars don't have kids and families, or that they hide everything they do? They're a pretty suprisingly normal bunch, they just have sex for a living.

It's not something that can stay hidden forever, the kids *will* eventually find out, whether by coming across it on the web or what have you-as I've pointed out, it's not a secret, and not well hidden at all. My family knows, my parents know, my friends all know. And yes, my pride will hold strong in explaining porn, sexuality, and the Facts Of Life to my kids-I'll take a tip or three from my friends in the industry who ahve kids and have already done so when my turn comes.

Obviously, you and I don't subscribe to the same belief system, and that's fine. But you're not going to make me feel shame over something that I, very frankly, don't find shameful.

I will be taking the initiative, not explaining it as an after-the-fact event. I don't intend to hide it. I also don't intend to sit down with a five-year-old and explain this; age-appropriateness is obviously a consideration.

So what would be the right age to expalin to your child that mommy did porno?

I just spoke to a freind on the phone and asked him what he would do if his mom told him that. He said, he didn't know and doesnt want to think about it, but he'd stay very ###### quiet about it if she did.

A lot of the people I worked with were everyday, worldwide people. Talent comes from everywhere, and I spent relatively little time in LA in comparison to the time I spent travelling the country to shoots. These are your neighbours, your classmates, the people in the grocery store. It's a job-it just involves sex.

As far as I know, most kids just accept it. Some have grown up knowing. Some don't find out until they're older. At least one grew up and has posed in the same shoot as her mother. Some go #######?! The reaction varies, I'd say. It depends on the kids, the situation, and the parents. I honestly can't say that any of them were in bad situations at home, or that anyone I worked with could have been considered a "bad parent". Most of them were pretty darn stellar as far as parenting is concerned-flexible hours makes for a good amount of time to spend with your kids, you can be there when they get home from school and whatnot.

Again, I do respect that from other perspectives, this is very much a #######?! situation. Most people never consider that the face on the screen has a life, and is more likely thinking about the fact that they have to stop on the way home and pick up eggs and bread than what they're actually doing.
