Married my sweetheart in 2002 outside of USA

July 2003 I entered USA as LPR. Wife could not follow to join.

March 2004 Filed I-130 for wife

Aug 2005 Wife enters as F1 student for Masters - Ivy league school cost me a fortune

July 2007 I-130 for wife approved but visa number far from being current

Aug 2007 wife graduates

Aug 2007 - wife OPT granted for a year

July 2008 - File N400 for my Citizenship

Aug 2008 - wife OPT expires cannot find employer to commit as H1 sponsor - Lawyer advises her to stay in country

Nov 2008- Citizenship granted and visa number becomes current. Decide to file AOS for wife as a citizen

Dec 2008 - Lawyer files I-485/I-765 - sent to NBC.....Wait begins.. wife still with 180days of being out of status.

Jan 2009 - Biometrics done

April 2009- I-765 approved - EAD arrives in the mail

April 2009 Interview letter arrives in the mail for May 13th

May 13th - Interview - took 10 minutes, IO asked for no evidence or questions about our marriage, basic questions based on I-485 i.e name, address all those yes/no questions. IO approved case and stated it was a pleasure to meet my wife and I.

May 14th 2009 - Cris email card production ordered.

SLEPT LIKE A BABY LAST NIGHT....LONG JOURNEY OVER!!!!!!!!!!!

PS. Our lawyer sent a comprehensive package that was about 130 pages long with all the evidence they would need. i.e joint taxes, joint bank accounts, joint amex accounts, joint car, house, life, medical insurance, joint house ownership, lots of photos tec... I think this is why IO did not ask us any questions about our relationship.

Congratulations!

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”
