finally me and my wife passed the interview today. Temp Green card is approved, but no stamp on my wife's passport.

I asked why no stamp on passport. She said, no more stamp, temp green card will be mailed in 3 weeks.

Is it true ? has anyone experienced the same?

If my wife wants to travel outisde US before she gets temp green card, is Parole paper(travel document) good enough?

It's almost mother's day and she wants to get togerther with her mom.

It is not a "Temp" Green-card, it is a CONDITIONAL green card, she is a Lawful PERMANENT Resident, only one with conditions attached.

This is not unusual many have reported not getting an I-551 stamp in passport.

AP doc is still valid and you can use it for re-entry.

We experienced the same. We were told it was only given for emergencies and the IO did not consider shopping at Ikea in Montreal an emergency! Imagine that. He didn't see our kitchen before! The AP will let her travle outside US and return BUT it is not a visa to admit you to another country. Provided you have entry documents for the other country, you can go and return with the AP, no problem.

Thank you guys for the reply. I have been searching and AP doesn't sound promising. the risk is high.

what if my wife still go back to visite her mom outside USA and when I receive the greencard, I will express mail her the greencard.

So she can enter USA with greencard. How does that sound? has anyone done somehting like this before?

Fear not! It is perfectly fine. Our officer told us that the reason they don't stamp anymore is that many have sold that stamp and therefore it is not safe anymore. The frustration comes and I understand it because we, those who are honest, pay for the mistakes of those who do illigal things. At the same time, right after the interview ended and told me the good news, he gave me a letter that confirms the fact that the green card has been approved. On that letter is mentioned my name plus the address where I will receive the green card, which is actually the address where I live. He was so nice the officer and he explained us why the stamp is used now only as emergency measure. Good luck!

The way I understand it is that the AP is a temporary benefit of the AOS process. Once AOS is approved the AP (and EAD) are no longer valid.

You may be allowed back in with the AP and you may not.

Express mail isn't 100% safe, things sometimes get lost. Do you want to risk it? Anything short of somebody travelling there to hand her the card personally is risky, in my opinion.
