Interesting concept. I've never given it much thought.

Does sin of killing a virtual character depend on the circumstance? For instance... killing an opposing soldier versus shooting someone in a mall? Both involve killing an individual (or in this case, a virtual character) but the reasons are different.

Games are about fantasy. People fantasise about all kinds of different things without the need for a game to actualise it (daydreams for instance). In their proper context there's nothing wrong with it - you only get a problem if a person decides to act them out.

Screw around - you can expect to be divorced.

Kill someone - you can expect to go to jail.

I don't have a problem with any form of fantasy that doesn't spill over into real life, but it seems that for the purpose of sin, that is not the case, that is what I was attempting to explore, unsuccessfully, I suspect

Ignorant attitudes like the ones in this thread really worry me... not just for my sister and her wife and their daughter, but for the children of homophobes. Can you imagine being the gay child of one of these people??

It is no wonder that rate of suicide attempts among LGBT teens with "rejecting" parents are WAY higher than hetero teens.

So sad. Why do so many people who say they follow Christ have such trouble being kind and respectful of others?
