Hi,Cartman,my check was cashed one day prior to NOAs recieved.Considering the process time of bank,I think they might deposit at the same day of isuuring NOAs.

Cartman, this was the same for me too. Cheque cashed one day, NOA issued the next.

Part of the reason I want to go before my appointment is that my appt is scheduled for 8.00 am in the morning, and it's a 3 hr drive for me. It says right on the form if you don't show up for your appointment that they consider your application abandoned (along with your thousand bucks probably!) Anyway it makes me nervous to miss the appointment, so if I can go ahead of time, I won't have to worry about being late, if that makes sense.

I'm a little obsessive about the whole thing. I want it over with!

Oh, I am so aggravated right now. Went to the license office here in St. Louis to renew my driver's license and showed up with everything: all my NOAs, my passport, my SS, my marriage license. They wouldn't renew my license! She wanted an "approval" notice of the I-485! I tried to explain to her that those things take a long time, but she just shrugged and said there was nothing she could do and asked me to call Jefferson City. I just went online to look at requirements for renewal and it says on the DOR site that for "applicants of adjustment of status" you just need immigration document indicating status (the NOA!) and either an EAD or passport. Either one! I'm going to call up a different license office and PRINT OUT THE PDF FROM THEIR WEBSITE and take with me. Today I'm really not enjoying being an immigrant.

As for what I miss from home? Food. I've been here almost three months now and I cannot get used to the food. I miss Thai food on the streets. And I miss my mom a lot.

hello i don't know if this would help but i already have my MD driver's license..i went to MVA to change my name to my married name already. i just told them that i lost my driver's lic and would like to get a new card and have my new name on it..i just presented them my marriage license and in 30 mins i was out of the office. the clerk told me that i also need to have my ssn change to my new name and days after i was able to change my name on it without any problem.

Hey new May Filers! Welcome!

I was surprised to get my biometrics letter in the Mail today with an appointment for June 2. I was also surprised to see them put me at an out-of-state field office. Even more surprised when I saw that this field office has a longer processing time, than the in state field office, although they are about the same distance from me. So it set us back a month!

I think I am going to go tomorrow and get it done. There is nothing on the letter t osay office times or anything. Do you really just walk in? It should expedite the process, yes?

Hi Rexalite and everybody else who was wondering about that issue. I thought about the same. As I first thought that I would be an April filer I was following that group for a while. There were some going to the biometrics earlier. E.g. "Panterchen" and it defenitely helped her. She got transfered before her original biometrics appointment. http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showuser=54542

I will see when mine will be scheduled. And as my husband is pretty busy with school right now and we just have one car, I have to see how my schedule allows that. But I would give it a try...

Btw: Was your "last updated" date on the USCIS website updated before you received the biometrics letter or does it change anything in the case status? Mine was updated yesterday, but I don't see any status change...

I just decided to check the USCIS site and saw that my last update was actually today 21st May. It was only for the I130 and I765 however, there was not a new updated status it is the same as before.

What could this mean? I have not had my biometrics done yet could this have something to do with an RFE?

05/16/09 - Received Biometrics Appointment

05/30/09 - Received a CRAZY amount of RFE's that were dated 05/21/09

06/01/09 - Biometrics Appointment Scheduled. In and out in 10 minutes!! Sent off RFE information (Should arrive in MO on Wed.)

Which did you go to? We've been going to kingshighway. They've been pretty good so far. But I agree, it would be best to take the print out of what it says and show them, hey this is what I have!

they were pretty insistant when we went last week that the I-94 was going to expire (5/22) so they wouldn't give him anything. they said he needed an EAD, but I must have found exactly what you did, because on MO's DMV site it says in AOS status, you need the immigration document indicating status, which would be an NOA1 no?, and an EAD or passport.

agreed. very aggravating.
