no. it means that 2/3 of the people who answered a stupid CBS poll support gay marriage to one degree or another.

so a lot of gays answer CBS polls. put it on the ballot and you'll see the truth (unless it gets acorned and a bunch of illegals vote for it with multiple registrations).

Up until the last election, I thought that the U.S. as a whole was moving more towards legalizing same sex marriages. I was however quite shocked when even in California it was shot down. Not only that, but In Los Angeles county, the measure passed. If you can't get more than 50% of voters in Los Angeles to vote for gay marriages, I think that doesn't bode well for the rest.

I wholeheartedly support civil unions. However I worry about some of the ramifications regarding civil rights if you make same sex marriages legal and don't put in certain protections. There are many churches and parochial based charities that this goes completely against their beliefs. If gay marriages are made legal, how do you weigh their rights to marry versus the right to religious freedom of the churches? I'm referencing a church that was sued and subsequently lost its tax free status when it refused to allow a gay couple to marry in New Jersey.
