I work outside for a living (construction) so I dont have alot of nice clothes.

What is recommended to wear at the interview?

I dont have a lot of money, but maybe I get get a shirt with a collar and tie on sale if I look around.

What did you wear to your interview?

We went to the re sale shop and got us both some nice clothes for real cheap. Husband wore a sports jacket with dress slacks and nice shirt, I wore a skirt, top and blazer. When were waiting to be called in for the interview, I noticed how scruffy a lot of people were dressed. One lady had mud caked all up on her shoes !

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

Yeah, I dont want to be that person who is all scruffy. Im hitting the second-hand resale stores tonight and tomorrow.

If you really look, you can find some real good clothes there. Sometimes with the original price tag on them. If you have a few stores in your area, hit em all. My entire outfit including shoes only cost me 15$. You cant beat that with a stick.

My husband's dress pants were 3$ and his sports jacket was 60 cents! We both looked sharp, not to brag, but we did.

my husband just wore a t-shirt and blue jeans and rubber shoes and I wore jeans too. but i would recommend you wear formal attire.

I was just wondering the same thing. I was thinking a business casual look, if jeans are worn at least follow up with a nice shirt and black shoes not tennis or running shoes. My feeling was that the suit and tie may be an overkill if it does not match with the personality. But most people here seem to think formal is better than clean casual. For example, if I were a construction worker, I'd go with clean jeans, shirt with collar, no tie, dark shoes. For a woman I'd recommend avoiding jeans, but not necessarily go as far as a skirt or dress, just dressy pants and shirt. But, I may be totally wrong here since I haven't had my interview yet. I wish such an important step in the process did not rely on something as superficial as clothing! But I guess it's all about first impressions.

My husband wore nice pants, a shirt and a pullover and dress shoes. I wore a long skirt, and a nice aline dress over the skirt with black shoes and a crochet-ed top over my dress. We looked well put together :)

Like an interview, dress to impress!

I am not sure you really need a suit and a tie. But nice slacks and a pressed shirt are definitely a bonus! :)

In this tedious process, we tend to forget that this is all worth it.

I love my hubby beyond anything in this world.
