It's hard work but I really enjoyed making :-)

This project started when I was 15 years old, and it finished 6 years and 4 months later.

Now I'm studying Material engineering in Tokyo university.

• 22 feet long.

• 3 feet wide.

• 330 pounds.

• More than 200,000 Lego pieces.

Yamato was sunk 7 April 1945 by American carrier aircraft receiving 10 torpedo and 7 bomb hits before capsizing; 2,498 of the 2,700 crew-members were lost. It only sunk two American ships of the smaller class and was used very little. Battleships were a symbol of a nations might, maybe because they were also built out bricks was the reason they sank so easy. Real bricks, a bygone era.

The Japanese destroyed all the prints, photos, and drawings, have to rely on US Navy photos today to learn even what this ship looked like.
