Of course, the thing only determines amenities within a mile. There's plenty more than a mile away I can walk to. As was proven in the Great Seattle Snow of 2008 and 2009

I intentionally bought this house due to its 8 minute walk to the Metra station which I use for my daily commute to the Loop (downtown Chicago).

It's a 5 minute to Jewel-Osco (supermarket) and Walgreens, restaurants & pubs.

All the best of a fully detached suburban house with basement, garage, huge backyard - combined with urban services.

I own a car which I fill up approximately once every 4 weeks. Sometimes I drive around just coz I feel guilty for owning a car that I don't use enough
