I know this has been asked before, and all answers lead to the same result-- B2 Visitor Visa. My question is 1. How many people have had luck with this?, 2. How did they do it--evidence-wise and all, and 3. Is there any other way?

The answer to this question is going to be different for every country. You should post this type of question in the regional forum for your country so that more people can give you accurate answers. Although, even though, I think your answers will still be up in the air!

But good luck!

1. Plenty of people get visitors visa's. Plenty of people get denied. Varies.

2. They show strong ties back to the home country. Jobs/Money/Real Estate/Family. Age/sex has some pull on the decision process. Country of origin plays a part.

3. No other way that is legal.

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.

WARNING: Phrases in this post may sound meaner than they were intended to be. Read the Adjudicator's Field Manual from USCIS

DITTo!

If they have a reason they HAVE to return to their home country and won't go illegal they have a good chance.

K1 denied, K3/K4, CR-1/CR-2, AOS, ROC, Adoption, US citizenship and dual citizenship

From your country, i would GUESS hard. have them contact the embassy and ask them. Usually they will have to show very strong ties to the home such as employment, family, owning property. There may also be required AP with the visa, even with a visitor visa.

Best bet is to direct your questions to the embassy
