Hi All.

This is a stupid question, but just need a confirmation.

My fiancee and I will be traveling together from her country of residence to Seattle, WA. However, it is not a direct flight, so there is a connection at a different US port prior to arriving in Seattle.

Will her I 94 stamp be issued in the first point of entry into the United States? Is that a problem? Do they usually allow USC to go through customs/immigration with their fiancees or will I have to go back into the USC line at the airport?

Thanks.

This is FINE, the first airport will be POE.

For example in my case: There is NO direct flight from Beijing China to Rochester NY, We make a connection in Chicago IL or Washington DC, Chicago or Washington is the POE.

We went through Atlanta and my Fiance went to the Visitors line I went to the Citizens line. I was able to wait with him in the room where he got his I-94. Check out the POE reviews once you have your POE. Good Luck!

Me experience is that they will separate you into different lines....those with US passports, those without. I would be prepared to be separated. She most likely will have to go through customs on her own.

Moved to Moving Here and Your New Life in America forum as post concerns POE protocol.

My husband and I were not separated when we entered Newark together; I was instructed to accompany him through the non-USC/GC holders line.

When my wife entered the USA on the K-1 I simply indicated to the POE officer in the line that I was accompanying her so I went through immigrations with her in the Visitor's Immigrant's line.

They wont separate you if you indicate that you are traveling together.

The first place of entry will be her POE. No problem. She will get her I-94 there and is free to travel anywhere in the USA from that point. You can go through the line with her throught the POE, no problem. Just get in the same passport line as she does. USCs are not required to use the USC/Resident line for passport control.
