Helloo All,

Hope u all r doing fine... I am feeling really stressed out with this visa process.

I was so happy with my interview date which was on April 20th, as u all know that from my signature, we (me and my hubby) got interview letter through email from NVC. Later on, he also received a interview letter issued on March18th and received it couple of days back which was from US Embassy Dhaka. All was goin fine.

However, today my husband got another letter saying that my interview is scheduled for 27th???!!!!!!!! I mean what the hell is going on here??!!! My husband immidiately called to NVC, and they said, as per their system it is on 20th....They have no record. Then, they asked my husband to call DoS (I guess, not sure where, but it is in Washington) and gave him the number. But unfortunately, he could not talk today cuz it was already 6 o clock in the evenning.

So, what is going on here? I never heard any mess like this so far. My husband already got his ticket done, and we are in real mess.

Please guys... What should I do now?

Sonia

Keep calling til you get an answer, worse case and ya dont get an answer, go to the interview on the 20th and if it was indeed rescheduled you will know for sure then. If that is true, its just a few days later. Either way you should be able to get an answer over the phone. Is there not a number you can call at the Embassy to confirm?

Embassy in Dhaka, Bangladesh has some pretty weird policy. They don't answer phone calls. U can only email or fax and u will get reply after 1 month or so. Today is 3rd April and next 2 days are weekends. So if I email them on 5th (I can even email them today), I will never get a reply in time.. so far pointless.

I know, it is only a week later but problem is, we had some plans, my husband is coming all the spending thousands of dollars. It is never easy. Worst case I would have to face the interview on 27th. But why is this kinda mess? Atleast when I have interview letters both from NVC and Embassy which says it is on 20th?????????????????

Who sent this letter??? "However, today my husband got another letter saying that my interview is scheduled for 27th"?

If NVC Then I would call them twice a day before 6pm and after until you get an answer. Someone has to tell you when it is exactly. If you get someone to answer, which I have always been able to do, then get their name, and a confirmation number or code or something confirming to you that they gave you the correct interview date. That way you have proof when you arrive for the interview.

Is there anyway you can go the Embassy and ask them about it if you can't call at all? Since this is pretty weird and NVC still have the old record of April 20 for the interview date.

Noop It is not NVC..It is embassy...US Embassy Dhaka.... They issued two letters same day on March 18th. One mail contained the instruction package and the interview letter saying it is on 20th. Another one, in separate mail saying it is been scheduled in 27th, and it has no intruction package. It also mentioned please disregard any date provided earlier.

Here is more detail to clarify

1. Got interview letter through email from NVC INTERVIEW DATE April 20, 2009

2. Got interview letter with instruction package by mail from Embassy INTERVIEW DATE April 20, 2009 (Only petitioner/agent received it)

3. Got letter from Embassy INTERVIEW DATE April 27, 2009 (Only petitioner/agent received it)

Strange. But then again we are talking about the US goverment. By the looks of it , it looks as if it , in fact did change! However, I would not just assume , I would call NVC until you can get clarification. They have to be able to tell you. If you dont like the answer they give the first time, keep calling back and talking to people until you get a for sure answer. Ask them if they can email you or fax you confirmation , as you are worried you will not go to the correct interview. Either that or go on the 20th anyway, and see wht happens. Nothing is easy with this whole process, but sadly we are at their whim. Good luck and I pray all goes well for your interview!

Sonia, I would go to the embassy on the original interview date, unless you can confirm before hand that the embassy has changed the interview date. There have been some cases of people having interviews rescheduled by the embassy, if you cannot confirm solidly that the date has changed, go to the embassy/consulate with the original interview date. Worst case they tell you to come back on the 27th.

I think the best way is contacting the embassy in person. Hope you get the answer for all of this soon. :)

Sonia,

Sorry to hear about this mixup. I would agree with all of the suggestions others have posted. If you are not able to get it straightened out in time and while it may be inconvenient, go on April 20 with all of the corespondence and hope for the best. Good luck and keep us updated.

solution is pretty easy

ignore such a letter u got

and simply go to your interview in april 20

if ur interview was postponed u will know then ..if not so u got it

thts the best solution and far away of the headache of getting false informations from everywhere

Good Luck

Yeah, we were also thinking of it...Lets say, we did not get the mail, which is not very unlikely to happen anyways...so, what if we go on 20th? We have interview letter and instruction packages from Both NVC and Embassy....What will it be the worst case? They would ask us to come back on 27th....

Pretty weird...I am just thinking why is it all happening to me...

Anyways, we would definitely show up on 20th. What if that I really miss my original interview date which is on 20th? Who would be responsible? I guess, no one...I have only 1 piece of paper which says it is on 27th and everything else, including NVC AVR and emails are saying it is set on 20th.

When is this messes going to finish?

Please please please pray for me..We really need some luck...
