Took my oath yesterday with 3,497 other new citizens! I was amazed at how organized they were! The judge was a little late. When it was announced, the crowd booed loudly. I thought it was rude - of the judge to be late knowing thousands of people were waiting and of the crowd to be so disrespectul. But as I overheard somebody say - most of us waited 5 years, what's a few minutes more?

Most people were emotionally moved after the videos were played and were dabbing their eyes when the lights were turned back on. A few looked bored as hell.

In my opinion, it was a good ceremony.

Now, I'm heading to costco to have a passport picture taken, then off to the post office to apply for a passport.

Congrats!! :dance::dance::dance: Wow, that's a lot of new citizens!!!

The judge was a little late.

There must have been something in the air yesterday. The judge for my wife's ceremony was late too. We waited over an hour after everyone had checked in before he arrived. We waited so long that my infant son couldn't sit still anymore, so I had to take him outside and as a result, I missed the ceremony. Oh well...

I was impressed that it was the Chief Judge of the US District Court for the State of Colorado who administered the Oath, especially given that there were only 49 candiates at my wife's ceremony.

Hi,

So its been almost a month since my interview and I was getting anxious because I hadn't received my oath letter yet when this morning at 8:00am I actually received a telephone call from my local immigration office to schedule my oath ceremony for this coming tuesday 8th at 2pm. They said that they had to call because if they sent a letter I wouldn't receive it in time. I've never been called by them before so was a little worried when she introduced herself as being from the immigration office.

Would someone please update me on the list?

I'm almost done... can't wait :dance:

And here is my story since receiving my oath letter originally scheduled for 08/14/09 -- setup an infopass appt requesting a later date due to travel arrangements -- advised could only reschedule by mail through the USCIS -- sent letter with a copy of my air ticket -- received a call on afternoon of 08/14/09 wanting to know why i did not show up -- advised of said trip and requested oath after 09/14/09 when i was scheduled to fly back in -- received oath letter and now scheduled for 09/18/09. Just came from the oath ceremony and was done in about 1.25hrs -- again God bless America -- it feels good! and to all the others who have completed the journey -- congrats and to the few still pending -- it's just a matter of time -- will now have to decamp to the IR petition forum
