Received my interview letter today, updating, hopefully this time I am doing this right, otherwise, can someone please correct?

Geez, this Interview is so soon!! If my baby comes on her due date she will be 12 days old, we shall see how that goes, at least my parents will still be in the US at that time!

if your appointment is on a day you are on vacation try to take the letter to the office and do a walk-in, mine was also scheduled for a day when I was out of town. At first I sent the letter back, but then I saw here that some people just walked in at the office. I did that and they had my letter there and it was over with in a few minutes. I am sure it will be on a day when you are out of town, this is how things usually work out isn't it??! Haha, good luck to you!

Well, I finally got my Biometric appointment letter - oh yeah, it's right when I will be on vacation. Actually the day I will be driving back from Minnesota...So, I figured a foolproof plan to spend an extra day at the in-laws in Kansas city on the drive back so that I can go to the appointment etc and all seemed dandy till I saw that the appointent was in St.Louis !!! (oh, just the other end of the state). But it says, if I cant make the appointment, I can walk in on any Wednesday before August 18 at which point my application would be considered abandoned (not gonna happen with my 675 bucks :).

My next curveball is that I will be going back to India for a month in August. If I get an interview date in August, can I reschedule the interview like they have done with the biometrics ? Anyone with this experience ?

Anyways, let me do a dance first for receiving the biometric letter. :dance:

if your appointment is on a day you are on vacation try to take the letter to the office and do a walk-in, mine was also scheduled for a day when I was out of town. At first I sent the letter back, but then I saw here that some people just walked in at the office. I did that and they had my letter there and it was over with in a few minutes. I am sure it will be on a day when you are out of town, this is how things usually work out isn't it??! Haha, good luck to you!

Well, I finally got my Biometric appointment letter - oh yeah, it's right when I will be on vacation. Actually the day I will be driving back from Minnesota...So, I figured a foolproof plan to spend an extra day at the in-laws in Kansas city on the drive back so that I can go to the appointment etc and all seemed dandy till I saw that the appointent was in St.Louis !!! (oh, just the other end of the state). But it says, if I cant make the appointment, I can walk in on any Wednesday before August 18 at which point my application would be considered abandoned (not gonna happen with my 675 bucks :) .

My next curveball is that I will be going back to India for a month in August. If I get an interview date in August, can I reschedule the interview like they have done with the biometrics ? Anyone with this experience ?

Anyways, let me do a dance first for receiving the biometric letter. :dance:

congrats on your letter!! Good for you! Funny, I used to live in St. Louis (went to college there), but am not missing the Show me State too much these days, too humid!!

To answer your question: even though I obviously have not had any experience with rescheduling the interview, my letter states that you may do so: "If for any reason you cannot keep this appointment, return this letter immediately to the USCIS office address listed below with your explanation and a request for a new appointment; otherwise, no further action will be taken on your application".

Good luck with your fingerprints! :dance:

Thanks Anci..I'm going to go ahead do my fingerprints on May 27 & hope that my interview is scheduled before I leave on July 30. I will deal with it when I get to that bridge. I live in Jeff city & yes,I never knew things can get so humid in the midwest. But I'm used to near 100% humidity coz of where I grew up.

i posted this on the March list, but I wanted to let you guys know as well if you didn't:

For anyone else like myself who had questions about the updates on the website: I called USCIS because my receipt number gives an error message. They said they have had difficulties with updates to the website for a long time and therefore some people's cases do not appear or are not updated at all. They can provide you updates when you call though. They told me they are about to mail my interview letter (i forgot to ask the date of the interview), she was kinda hurrying me off the phone.

So if you get no updates, infrequent updates or your number does not work... don't worry, just call!

Mailed N-400 March 6th via priority certified mail and Rec'd 9th (confirmation by USPS)

NOA rec'd: 3/19/2009 (date 3/16/2009, priority 3/9/2009)

Biometrics rec'd 3/26/2009, appt 4/9/2009

IL: 5/22/09
